CC’s Spare Bathroom Vibes
This is what I enjoy: white, simple, understated, but still the details have not been overlooked: the detailed white tile, the simple vanity , and the cabinet that has been tiled below the vanity. In this room, the black fixtures seem to complement the space, but I likely wouldn’t want to select them. Maybe a different colored floor would help.
Floor tile is fun! Maybe pitch black is not what I’d want, but I like the smaller rectangular tile. Contrasts well with the larger, smooth tiled wall.
Subway tile has very little charm. Vanilla. BUT I enjoy the off-kilter install here, and the higher length-to-width ratio.
Big, light, simple cabinetry. If I’m going to have hardware on my vanity drawers, it would like it to be horizontal (or vertical for cabinets) in essence. I also like the rectangular mirrors. I’m not sure if I enjoy circular or rectangular mirrors better. Circles seem to be more “in”, and rectangles are more “standard”. For the Spare Bath, I’m really curious how the window, especially if enlarged may play a part in the mirror placement.
I enjoy the vertical detailing on the vanity cabinet fronts. I also like the grey vanity top, which is a nice difference. Mirror is uncomplicated, large, and takes up the entire space. Less expensive than tiling a backsplash, I’d guess.
I am drawn to geometric details, which is probably why I enjoy this.

Likes: I really like the square penny tile on the wall of this bathroom. It’s white, but adds a lot of texture and interest.
Likes: Interesting grains in wood. Lighter finish on the vanity. Light, bright walls. Sconce is pretty neat. Dislikes: Open shelves on vanity (I’m too cluttery). Black, round hardware on vanity.
Likes: Very intentional design of this area. Vanity finish and style. Dislikes: countertop looks heavy and expensive, though it’s nice if it real natural stone. Just can’t afford this. This is TOO MUCH, but I’m digging the vibe of this very specific area. I love how the design is very direct with where the sink area is, especially with the way the ceiling is lined out.
Likes: Love this vibe! - if I could afford it, I’d just copy with bathroom with some tweaks. The wood wall behind the mirrors is too much wood for me. I like the shelving between the sinks here. Again, so many open shelves are impractical, but having one or two is nice for the added depth and if there is enough closed storage elsewhere, then the open shelves can be used for decorative elements rather than toiletries. I would also probably brighten up the look by going a little less beige and adding more soft whites. And I like that the partially frosted door has a green tint to bring in some color in a non-obvious way.
Likes: Towel rack is pretty neat. And the color palette works well here. I’m not sure if I like the orange/red finish on the “wood” accent wall for the towel rack. The slate-blue floor seems nice though. It isn’t as harsh as black, and brings in a little color.
Likes: Flooring. Not overly dark, but provides good contrast. Wall tile on the left is a nice touch. I wonder how that looks when looking directly at it.
I like the lighter vanity, and green-ish tile on the wall. Not sure if I’d want floor to ceiling tile up a wall, but could be nice for a backsplash. I don’t love the floor. Maybe a soft white, square penny tile on the floor could be nice, with a warm-tone grout.
Hmmm. Just very cool. Not sure if I’d want something this eclectic for all time, but it looks like nice bathroom to use for a few nights in a hotel.
Likes: Juxtaposition of hardware alignment. Finish on vanity is too dark, but the cool tone of it is interesting.
I don’t like the black hardware and accents. However, I do enjoy the wall sconces. I used to be into black floors, but I haven’t continued to love the contrast over time, I don’t think, but I also don’t hate it.
This is not the look I’m going for, but I want an elevated shelf above the sink where I can put the things. I’ve found this to be extremely convenient in hotel bathrooms.
