Ignore the rest of the bathroom but I like the shelves in the dividing wall for the bathtub

I'd do hinoki wood bath runners and a stool in the open shower. Stool might be a better use of space (b/c its mobile) vs a built in bench. Also like the different tile to demarcate wet vs dry area

Like floating cabinet, clean and simple countertop with undermount sink. Maybe that's even one piece sink?

Particularly like the organic, imperfect looking tile on the shower wall. Might be hard to clean though

Mirror hanging on straps from the ceiling is a neat idea. And love how low profile this toilet is, like the one in that paris bathroom

Like pretty much everything about this. Color scheme lends to japanese. Toilet is very out of the way, with cutout and shelf above for extra storage for Gio. S towel bar is cool. Lots of mix of textures, including the wavy black veneer and black vessel sings on light wood is cool

Whatever this black overlapping shingle style is I really like it

Like the negative space cutout handles instead of hardware for the cabinets. A floating, hang-down cabinet might add extra storage between the toilet and sink where there isn't room for a full height divider (NOTE: thats an old idea of layout, not so relevant anymore).

I like the grey porcelain tile contrasting with light warm wood slats. Love the idea of demarcating the shower area with wood slats, but no idea how hard it is to maintain those. Maybe wood-look tile instead?

This style of slatted light wood avoids the MCM look, lends a more asian look. Still a cool single-piece sink+countertop, clean

Clean countertop, sink. Maybe where the countertop has a similar finish to what I have in my kitchen. Then light wood under, can still feel japanese. Glass half wall for walk-in shower plus a wood stool for seating

I like the "tansu" style cabinet front for that over-sink storage

Maybe I free up more room for a hinoki style tub if it goes along the west wall and is oriented perpendicular to a shower where the shower goes east-west. If there's room given the door. Also this place seems to have a low ceiling and not much natural light and looks good, could go similar. Like the charcoal shingle look on the wall as well. Later update- probably no room for a tub. And as cool as the sink is, vessel sinks are a bitch to clean

Any sort of pebbles seems like a massive hassle to clean. I liked this instead because the large format, cement-like, grey tile contrasts well with light wood, so could form a fair portion of this

If I go with no bath and no permanent bench in the shower, I could grab a moveable hinoki wood stool like the one in this picture for sitting under the hot shower water

The bamboo is cheesy but I do like the square hole all if I need a partition. Not sure the bathroom is big enough to suffer a partition though

I like the idea of a small wooden sit bench if we remove the bathtub entirely, and matching wooden slat floors. I imagine the slats have to be removeable and the floor cleanable though
