This look requires a 10x12. The rug will start in front of the side tables and extend underneath the bench. It won’t extend as far as this photo. It weights the bed as a focal point of the room.

To have a rug all of the way around the bed and side tables you would require a rug greater than 10x12. One side of the rug needs to be 10 ( this will go under the bed and side tables (width wise). So you would want a 10x 14 or 10x 16. You could even do a 12x14… but the max width is 12….10 would be ideal. )

This carpet fits a little under the end of your bed and under the bench. If you want to make the room look longer and not wider…this is a possibility. Because there is the drawers against the wall along with the chair and tree, the room is already balanced so this may make it feel more cluttered at the end of the bed and in order to rebalance the room with this rug choice, you may want to put up something above the top of the bed. This look requires a 6x9 rug. ( for reference the foyer rug is 6x9…you can try it out in the room to see the look of it)

So if you like the look of this… you require a 5x8 for your room. The sight lines for this is that it can make the weight of the room appear to be at the end of the bed….as that is where your focus goes. If you do this you will definitely need pictures or art above the head of the bed.
