Sail over deck. To prevent view obstruction from bedroom window, place fixing on house under the window so it is lower than the opposite end of the sail (the sail height would be higher on the hedge side). It could also be removable for the cooler months. This or tree not both

green screen behind house side of the deck. I would make this with taller plants to hide the tank etc. I like the long seat that would go the length of that side of the deck. You can have it bare or with a long seat cushion. A fire pit for winter would be nice

Tree for shade over deck. I've seen this done where you cut a round hole in the deck and plant a tree. So the tree is growing in the deck where you need the shade not on the outside of it. See other photo
