Color

Low key: Low key color schemes are darker tones with deep contrast, often used for dramatic effects. This space has darker tones as it uses black and dark green which contrasts a lot with the wood floor and lights, making it low-key.

High key: High key color schemes are light colors with minimal contrast, often creating a soft, airy feel. This space is primarily all white which makes it very high-key. The blueish/green glass table also only adds a slight contrast.

Triadic: Triadic color schemes are when three colors are used that are evenly spaced on the color wheel. This picture has red, yellow, and blue which are evenly spaced on the color wheel making them triadic.

Split Complementary: This color scheme is when there is a base color + two colors adjacent to its complement. This picture has red (flowers/pillows), blue(carpet), green(curtains), and purple(chairs). It represents a split complementary color scheme blue and green are adjacent to the complementary color of red.

Complementary: Complementary color schemes are when colors from the opposite ends of the color wheel are paired together. This picture consists of primarily blue and yellow which are on the opposite ends of the color wheel.

Analogous: Analogous color schemes consist of ‘neighboring’ colors on the color wheel. This picture represents analogous color harmony as the primary color seems to be the yellow on the walls and the secondary color is green (most of the furniture). Yellow and green are next to each other on the color wheel. Pink is also used but as more of an accent color to make things pop!
