Reply to: I really like the glass blocks, and think a 1x1 mosaic tile of glass or stone would look great. The squares of the 1x1 mosaic would repeat the squares of the glass blocks. I love Oceanside Glasstiles in the Geologie and Tessera series, they would look great in your kitchen. I don't think you're as limited as you think...I can visualize a lot of different styles in there. You might check out Stone & Pewter Accents Falling Water, Jeffrey Court Fire and Ice or Raindrops. Gorgeous cabinets, by the way...and Giallo Ornamental Granite will look wonderful.
