Glass block back splash

A long time ago, I saw a house that used glass blocks as a back splash for the sink wall of their kitchen. It was both dramatic and very soothing to let a bit of light in that way.

Does anyone have an opinion about this?

Does anyone have pictures of their kitchen or other kitchens with this feature?

Am I crazy for even thinking about this since I live in frozen Wisconsin??

Glass blocks are tricky. In a modern, clean-lined kitchen I think it might work, if done just right. But if you have traditional tastes, it would likely come off looking like you did your kitchen 25 years ago.
