#2 is almost exactly my kitchen layout and the solution is almost exactly what I have in mind for what I want my kitchen to look like!
Replacing the drawers and cabinet doors is probably the best way to go for the kitchen. I like some of the two-tone stuff! I would have to clean and paint the cabinet interiors as well.
This is an excellent idea for a remodel. Replace the cabinet doors and drawer faces, laminate the cabinet boxes, and have a new countertop/backsplash installed. This is probably what would work best for my kitchen. I could have an island installed/build one and match the counter tops/drawers to that.
These are some cool smaller islands to consider adapting to the kitchen. I am digging the table I am using as a stand in so far!
Some good advice for organizing kitchen areas for specific needs/uses.
Lots of ideas for kitchen sinks. Currently leaning towards a single basin sink in either stainless steel or composite granite.
Some good tips on repainting kitchen cabinets. This is definitely a good budget option if you don't want to spend the money on brand new cabinets. The only concern is the blank spaces in the back corner of the kitchen. Maybe just replace those cabinets?
Lots of advice on measurements for and between areas of the kitchen.
Home bar ideas and advice. Home bar is definitely a use for what is currently a desk in the kitchen area.
Plenty of advice and details for different kitchen needs/arrangements.
There are plenty of good ideas in this story, mostly for the kitchen. I like the combination of butcher block island top with the white quartz countertops. A spice drawer in the island where prep occurs is cool, as is the glass doors on the end cabinet. What is triangle method of kitchen design?
There are some good ideas here for utilizing the under sink cabinets. Wire shelves on the doors with pullout cubbies tickle my fancy. Some sort of lighting under there as well. Maybe a motion sensing battery LED light?
Some good ideas for waste basket pullout drawers.
There are some interesting storage ideas in this article!
There are some good ideas throughout this article but the real interest is the DIY kitchen stuff, thrift store find, and especially the poured concrete countertops. That would be a VERY cool DIY idea and inexpensive to boot!
Quartz is another counter top idea that is relatively inexpensive. The pantry/coffee bar idea could work for the pantry/desk area in the kitchen now.
I like the wood and white. Probably cheaper than other counter tops except laminate? Some cool tips for mirrors and creative backsplashes. The sink if from IKEA! Definitely check that out at some point.
Instead of island this may work for the dining area facing part of the kitchen. Coordinate aesthetic with kitchen island?
The white cabinets are really nice and the surround for the refrigerator is pretty cool. Almost makes it look like a builtin.
definitely could use a hidden trash for new kitchen!
Kitchen idea. Lots of storage in island! Would the table set up work and leave enough room?
Pretty vent hood!
An island like this one with the stools might work. Any thoughts on hanging pots/pans like in this picture?
This would be gorgeous to have looking out into the back yard! Can you really do this? I would love that. I mean with flowers and gardens out there it would be so relaxing!
Cool vent hood. Love the drop lights and wall shelves. Alicia says... I like the vent hood, but really like the drop lights. I am not a big fan of the open shelves because of all the cooking particles that get in the air. The dishes would always have a light film on them.
Neat idea for the exhaust hood and cabinetry. Alicia says....I like the range hood and I love the light cabinets with the stainless pulls. Very clean and classy!
Interesting thought. I could make the island the dining table as well. That would save a lot of space! Alicia says... You could... but I prefer having both a island and a table.
This is pretty much the setup I envision for the kitchen. Refidgerator would be in the same position, the other appliance would move a bit but it would look pretty much like this. Alicia says.... DO IT! I like this set up the best. I Love the idea of having a island that you can cook on one side and have peoplesit and talk to you on the other.
This setup is definitely possible. Alicia says.... This one is ok. Kinda boxy and boring.
I like the idea of the stools and a circular table. Setup would have to be different. Alicia says... I am not a big fan of round tables. I do think you need bar stools at the island counter.

The curved island option sounds rather interesting to open up my kitchen but also create lots of useable storage.
