I like the color and geometric feel of the patio paving, and also the sense of privacy that the plantings give. (But I don't like the use of rough-hewn natural stone on the edge of the pool. )

This is another one with some nice plantings. Also, maybe a brick edging like this could help tie it into the yard. But I think I prefer some concrete with a gray tone rather than beige / yellow. I also like the offset stairs, which I think we'd have with ours.

I like the little concrete "tiles" on the edge of this one. I definitely want some element like that in our yard. Perhaps it can just be on the walkway along the back of the house? But I'd like to see it elsewhere as well.
