Shower curtain. Kelley researched making a curved shower curtain rod, but in the end, purchasing a premade rod was the easiest option. Then, Jeremy installed it and ensured that the corner was installed into a ceiling stud, not just the drywall. Textured tiles can be used all over, but often they look best when used as an accent, especially as a backsplash in a kitchen or behind a vanity. Specifying no cabinetry handles often means expensive opening mechanisms or hand-cut joinery. No [seams] in stone means buying oversized slabs and having an expert stonemason on hand to book-match the ends perfectly. And no grout lines means either huge, expensive tiles that take two tilers to lay (which doubles the labor cost) or porcelain sheets that can be cut and installed only by a stonemason — onto a wall that most likely has to be straightened instead of just packed.
Floral wallpaper. Whether realistic Victorian roses or oversize abstract blooms, flowers are flourishing in powder rooms. The good news is that you can splurge on a more expensive wallcovering because you don’t have many square feet to cover in a tiny powder room.
