They are, of course, highly favoured in ground floor rooms, but there’s no reason why they can’t steal the show upstairs, too. Dadswell opted for wall lights instead of table lamps to keep surfaces free. “When you’re fitting wall lights in a bedroom, you need to plan ahead,” she says. “Measure up first to make sure they’re perfectly in line with the bed.”
