this island configuration looks like what we were talking about. I like legs, but not these legs. Malcolm calls them knee knockers, but no different from a table, and I think looks weird without.
this is a little different from the lazy susans seen in most corner cabinets. It seems simpler and more sturdy, but maybe not as easy access as you have to reach past the pulled out drawer to get to the inner stuff.
I have a number of platters that are stored on the floor under my bakers rack. Toekick drawers would be a good solution

I like the look of cabinets all the way to the ceiling. Even if we can’t afford stacked cabinets you can give the appearance by using moulding
this is a beautiful kitchen and it looks like they have used a combo of framed and frameless cabinets. this would be a great way to save some dough
