The natural-finish wood flooring is one of her favorite features on the porch, inspired by local boutique hotel Zero George. “When I bought the house, [the floor] was painted the same color as the exterior, but I saw the natural finish at the hotel and loved it,” she says. “Most Charleston singles paint the deck, so I think it makes the house unique.”
Bring in vintage or repurposed furniture. The couple had the exterior painted with a fresh coat of white, replaced the windows, added shutters and poured new concrete to replace the cracked driveway and sidewalk. They also added a pergola to frame the garage, built the hog wire fence and planted new plants to add some charm.
