Kitchen/Laundry Renovation Ideas

Must stick within budget of $65,000 with a $10,000 Contingency
Need to decide where to redo kitchen- move it closer to east or west side of house?
Need to decide where laundry will be moved to- hall bath, opening up wall of next door bedroom closet? That would be easiest solution.
Kitchen to be flooded with natural light with windows, sliders and/or skylight.
I miss working in the kitchen with the golden light of afternoon (however, this would be coming from our West side of house).
Plenty of organized storage to work with.
Everything would be easy to clean– surfaces and textures of materials can be easily wiped up with a sanitary wipe or sponge.
Good quality materials- wood, quartz, marble, glass, brushed nickel (fixtures), brushed gold (fixtures), weathered bronze (lighting).
Functionally efficient flow going from Point A to Point B- from taking food out of fridge to washing it to prep cutting it to cooking it.
Sound control–Tricky solution for me feeling open and unconfined while making it so Roy doesn’t get barraged with kitchen noises while in the office or family room.
Smooth, easy to clean counters, cabinets, floors and backslashes.
Flooring to be easy to maintain (minor grooves if any) and help prevent breakage when we get the “dropsies,” and we do get the dropsies! Perhaps laminate that looks like grey oak wide planking?
Kitchen sink to have window to look out into yard, the bigger the better. Will also have protection to use when we need it from harsh sun hours.
Gas cooking w/precision cooking temps and excellent hood for immediate ventilation.
An island if possible would be so great, but not a “must” if we have enough counter space
Light and bright- white colors, with some natural wood here and there, and light stone, like Cararra marble quartz lookalike, or white quartz. Or it could be Cararra marble backsplash with white quartz counter tops (marble on working surface is too much upkeep).
Would like to know if we can blow the ceiling out and open up the space a bit, or if that is out of the budget completely.
I am a gardener, always in the back kitchen garden. I would like to have ease of access from kitchen to garden, so French doors or sliders immediately onto back patio from middle rear of home, near the reno portion or this project.
I am a bit conflicted because I still love natural wood stains for kitchen cabinets. Yes, the clean white cabinets are so alluring to me. But if I were to go with natural stain wood cabinets again, it could be beautifu-l yet it would have to be done well and in such a way that the natural light balances out the darker tones in the room so as not to feel claustrophobic or too cave-like. Perhaps it can be a mix of natural stain cabinets with white painted cabinets, one at the island and one at the surrounding cabinets...?

I can see this kind of arrangement done in our kitchen family room areas.
I love how the natural light filters into the room. Not really anything else. We want gas stove and contemporary traditional craftsman style wood cabinets with white and carrara like quartz stone.

Ignoring the modern style, I think this floor plan could work with our home.
I want to be outside all the time, but when I am inside, I want to feel close to the outside. This kitchen feels good to me because it accomplishes that well. It has a strong connection to the outside with all the windows, and how everything is place to enjoy the views.
Great counter space here! And has nice natural light.
Very cozy, and love the light glowing in--but would still want more natural light coming in on right side.
I like that this feels like a greenhouse right next to the yard, and is totally accessible to the yard.
Love this kitchen. The cabinet materials, colors, and windows, and sink placement. Like the stone counters. Like the wood floors with no grooves, easy to sweep and mop. But not the backsplash...too busy for me.

This looks like a possible arrangement for our kitchen if it were done on the back side of the house, but still this is too dark for me.
Love the design and colors here. The rug goes so nicely with the wood floor stain and the gray cabinets with brushed gold fixtures and light counter tops and walls. Very nice.
