Nana was great to work with. She is super calm and organized which was extremely helpful during our home remodel which can seem daunting and overwhelming. She presented us with three different options for our remodel. We were needing to adjust the current floor plan and add some square feet so the three options would likely be at different price points. We ended up choosing the one that would be the most significant change which put us over our intended budget but got us everything we wanted and needed to stay there long term. She helped get the permits from the city and organized three contractors to get bids from. It was a seamless process and after getting the higher than anticipated bids, she offered to help us shift our plans to make sure we maximized the space and budget. I'd highly recommend her!

We hired Nana to help us plan a renovation and address several key problems with the layout and traffic flow of our 1920s house. She’s been great to work with throughout the process. From the beginning, she brought a fresh perspective and helped us think about our spaces in new ways, guiding us to a different layout that serves our needs significantly better than our current arrangement. She’s been patient and flexible as our goals for the project have shifted, and she’s a great communicator, addressing questions and concerns as they came up. We’d happily recommend Nana to others and would definitely work with her again!

I hired Nana based on a recommendation from a friend in the building trades plus viewing one of her projects and personal house. Her style was just what I was looking for. She has proven a great choice; easy to work with and full of suggestions to make this project manageable for me (this is new construction). The plans are wonderful and permitting was a breeze due to her careful work. I expect to have photos as the house gets built over the next few months.

We hired Nana because we loved the work she did on a friend's house and couldn't be happier with our decision. She made an overwhelming process feel easy. I was impressed with her ability to take our mid-century ranch into the new millennium without forcing the house to be something it wasn't (and more importantly, not going overboard on the mid-century feel). The end result has a timeless feel. I think the best complement someone can give your house is to say that when they walk in they feel the warmth of the space and they feel at home. We have gotten that feedback on many occasions. One of my favorite parts of the house is the laundry room/butler's pantry. We even installed a special bathtub for our potbellied pig. The only problem with it is that I should have gone a size bigger. Our sweet Harriet quickly outgrew it. We're planning to add a new master suite addition and we wouldn't dream of using anyone other than Nana.

After seeing Nana's own home (the Annie project), I immediately knew that she would be the one to design our brand new house from the ground up. I’m in love with her style because she’s able to seamlessly mix modern and traditional design elements. New houses can feel cold and stark, but Nana’s unique style is full of character, warmth, and functionality. She took a list of our wants and needs and created an ideal and efficient layout on a relatively small lot. Her attention to detail is impeccable and we especially loved the choices of unique tile patterns, lighting/water fixtures, and custom cabinetry elements that she presented to us.

We are adding on to our 888 sq/ft house and needed assistance with design because we could not figure how to get all of the things we desired into such a small addition. Nana gave us three design ideas and they were completely beyond anything we had come up with yet. We picked our favorite and she was so patient and helpful with our questions and requests. She submitted our design to the City and we received a permit SUPER fast despite all of the awful things I've heard in the past about the process. Nana is awesome!

Nana at 9 square was our consultant in the build-out of our office space. It turned out better than we could have imagined, thanks to Nana. She understood the look we had in mind, gave us great suggestions on fixtures and finishes, and was a bulldog on our side when it came to dealing with the landlord and construction company. She made sure we got what we wanted and saved us money. It wouldn't have turned out nearly as well without Nana's involvement.

My construction company contracted and built the Annie project, and I've worked with 9 Square on a variety of other projects. The plans & specs were clear, easy to use during estimating, and easy to use during construction. And from my perspective, Nana's plans are a delight and unique: the rooms always have an ideal scale, the layouts are multi-layered (great traffic patterns, rooms connect well, fixtures and cabinets are easy to use), and the Annie plan did an especially good job of highlighting the lot's natural elements. Nana's material & equipment specs are durable and handsome, and they are cost efficient.

After seeing the wonderful redesign of a friend's kitchen many years ago, 9 square studio was the first place I thought of for the redesign of my own kitchen. Nana was terrific to work with and came up with a vision for our kitchen that neither my husband nor I could have ever imagined. She even recommended a contractor to us that was just as fantastic to work with. Nana was there for updates and the inevitable tweaks to the plans, as well as helping guide the vision to its fruition. We love our beautiful, functional kitchen and it is all down to the 9 square studio design! I highly recommend.

I am Operations Manager of a company in Austin that hired Nana / 9 Square Studio to design a reception lobby for our office. The main entrance to our office suite opened into the open break room / kitchen area, not a nice thing for guests to see when they walk in! So walls had to be built and paint colors chosen and furnishings had to be purchased. Nana worked with our building approved contractor to get the whole job done on time and on budget and it looks fabulous! Her design aesthetic is flawless and she is so much fun to work with. Even when we threw last minute changes at her like fancy light up signage or a slatted wood ceiling treatment, she never hesitated to dive right in and get all the information we needed to make an informed decision. We would definitely work with her again!
