JATES, Design + Build

The whole project was a disappointment and significantly behind schedule. Nearly every aspect of the remodel had to be redone because it wasn’t done correctly the first time. It was supposed to take just over a month and it has now been 9 months of construction and over a year since we first contacted Jates to start the project. We repeatedly had “no updates” and no work for days and weeks. They struggled to get a hold of their own “team” members who aren’t actually Jates employees. People wouldn’t show up and we’d have no explanation, and then other times someone would show up without any notice. Most frustratingly, we hired Jates because we were told the project could get done before our baby was born. He is now 5+ months old. No number of apologies will take away the stress and anxiety this project has caused. The initial budget they told us we could do this project for was $30-35,000 and to date we’ve spent close to $45,000. This is a huge issue because we only took out a loan for $30,000. There also was no real "design" support - no one helped provide direction in choosing finishes or selections, etc. A few examples: - The wrong grout color was used. We accepted a credit because things were so behind schedule but still the grout had to be reapplied because it was stained during subsequent work. - The shower drain was installed incorrectly so it had to be ripped up along with the surrounding tile and shower pan before it was reinstalled correctly. - Plumbing and lights weren’t centered and had to be moved. - Lights (and drywall) had to be changed because the wrong size cans were used. - The counters had to be fixed because the vanities had to be readjusted and they didn’t let the countertop team know so they used the original measurements from before the vanities were moved.

They were fantastic to work with. Punctual, professional and positive. Their work speaks for itself. I would highly recommend them.

What an amazing make over of our kitchen. We interviewed several construction firms prior to hiring Jates. They were communicative, timely and always great to work with. They presented a timeline with a hard start and finish date and job was completed early. Marco and Antonio came by at least twice a day to give us details on what to expect that day and to inspect work that was done. We can't say enough about Jates, and if we have another project in the future we would not hesitate to use them again.

Jates has always been able to execute each project with efficiency, supreme craftsmanship all while remaining conscious of my clients’ budget. We have completed major siding, woodwork, asphalt and paint projects with zero mishaps. The level of professionalism is superior to every vendor I have ever worked with!

I have work with and hired jates construction. Their goal is to 100% satisfy the client at all times. Working with them has been fascinated, they know how to schedule all trades so they can do their jobs and not have us being on top of each other. They really make everyone’s job easy with out a hassle. I am happy to continue working with them.
