Anne was amazing in helping us take our house that was not meeting our growing needs but was in the correct location and transforming it in ways that were better than we could have ever imagined. She was a careful listener, which showed from the first set of plans that incorporated so much of what we had asked for and things we didn't even know we needed/wanted. Her design was beautiful and fits well within our historic neighborhood. It was also functional with things like closets in every corner they would fit, knowing our family of five is always in need of storage. Anne was also very open to feedback and revised anything we asked. She also worked with us to help us meet the neighborhood zoning rules as well as those of the City of Atlanta. We would recommend her without any reservation! We used her for a big remodel in 2015 and another in 2023.

We worked extensively with Anne over many months to design our dream renovation for our home in Decatur. We would highly recommend this firm to anyone in our area who might be looking for architectural designs. Anne was so easy and laid back to work with. She is also a great listener. The first major draft of the design she walked us through was exactly what we were hoping for. We had only a few small follow up questions. She worked on tough issues between the engineers and our builder and remained calm and clear through the process. We are grateful to her for our wonderful house, it's privilege to be able to live in a beautiful house like this.

Anne worked with us in developing a conceptual plan for the expansion of our small 1940’s cape farmhouse on Cape Cod. We wanted a home that would accommodate our family including grown children and grandchildren with enough comfortable space without overbuilding. Because this home had belonged to a beloved family member, we wanted to keep the integrity of the home and stay as true to its original character as well as the surrounding area as was feasible. Anne listened to our wishes and rambling ideas and after traveling to the site and experiencing the unique character of this area, she really “got” what we were hoping for. There were some challenges with the location of a septic system, setbacks, and local codes and zoning restrictions and the hope of keeping two large cedar trees on the property. She was undaunted by any of these! She was always cheerful and upbeat and offered solutions and suggestions on navigating each challenge. Anne’s knowledge of all aspects of designing and building a home is impressive. We had to make some design changes due to the current cost of building on Cape Cod, but Anne took this in stride and the design is just what we had dreamed of: a comfortable cozy home to be enjoyed for many years to come. I want to add that Anne is such a warm, relatable person, easy to talk with and always willing to listen and offer alternatives. We highly recommend Anne/Anne Architecture.

I enjoyed working with Anne very much! Anne brought some creative ideas to the table as I sought to reconfigure my historic 1925 bungalow to be more liveable in the 21st century. Anne was responsive and I thought we communicated well. No changes to the plan were needed by my contractor to bring the vision to reality. Horrible experience. Paid for a design that absolutely did NOT meet our budget or our needs. I contacted this firm based on recommendations through Houzz. I was very specific with my budget for a master suite reno and fairly specific with wants, though open to ideas. Anne outlined the process, which was supposed to be ITERATIVE. We got back drawings that were in a much more complete stage and that, with time to consider, we had decided did not meet our needs. Additionally, we were extremely skeptical that the design could be rendered within our budget. When that idea was shared, Anne was not amenable to making the project work. We paid approximately $2200 for nothing. Later ended up paying another architect for plans. The final $1000 was really just to make her go away. Nightmare.

Hi Julie, I tried to give you a call this weekend, but you did not answer. I was surprised to see this review show up over four years after our work together ended. Yes, we got carried away in our enthusiasm for your project and took it a little further than we typically would for a first pass. We did this with the honest belief that we were addressing every one of the items that you had on your wish list for what you described as a “primo” master bedroom “retreat”.
I had no interest in leaving you hanging with drawings that you didn't consider useful, but you never responded to my offer to complete the project. Although you had signed an hourly agreement, I was willing to cap my fee at the original total amount estimated to give you a redesign and drawings that you could permit. Instead, you accepted a credit to the amount due and we parted ways, both unsatisfied with the results.

I trust that any potential client reading all 40+ reviews on my Houzz site will understand that your comments do not represent a probable experience working with my firm. I am proud of our 12-year track record delivering great projects with amazing Owners and we are grateful for each new opportunity.

The peace of mind that came from working with Anne and her team can't be overstated. Our contractor turned out to be a nightmare and on multiple occasions the plans that Anne created for our home renovation served as a resource to guard us against malpractice. On one particular occasion, the contractor wanted to charge several thousand additional dollars for an unnecessary structural change. Anne took the time to do another site visit to our home, reviewed the supposed structural issue and confirmed that the change being suggested was unnecessary. Knowing that we had her knowledge and expertise throughout the process gave us the confidence we needed to make the right decisions. I also believe the contractor behaved differently knowing we had Anne and her team in our corner. The kitchen and master suite renovation turned out beautifully and passed inspection. Highly recommend.

Anne and her team, specifically Beth, joined us partway through our plan development. Our project was a partial interior home renovation, as well as a brand-new garage plus apartment on premise. Once we began to meet with them, we realized how much we needed the change from our previous architect. It was quickly evident that Anne and Beth were on a different level; they understood what we needed. They anticipated and made suggestions that were exactly what we wanted before we even realized it. Partially through the project, Beth noticed that our exterior existing home trim was a Frankenstein-like concoction of mismatched trim and skillfully streamlined to update and upgrade our 1922 home’s curb appeal. Their experience and understanding of the City of Atlanta building codes (and restrictions) was invaluable in maximizing every square foot we had. By making sure the garage was just the right size according to Code, the apartment above the garage was carefully planned to allow for optimum living space. Their collaborative spirit and willingness to share ideas made sure that our home renovations and final garage was/is perfect for us. Overall, our experience was very positive, and we are delighted to recommend Anne Architecture to you.

We live in a 100-year-old home in Midtown that needed a lot of serious work. My only requirement was to stay in the spirit of the period of the home ...no walls removed ... and to keep the original floors, (nonworking) fireplaces and windows (which do not, and never will, open). Many architects I interviewed thought I was crazy, but Anne understood immediately and designed the most gorgeous, new-old home in the entire neighborhood. No detail went unnoticed, from the structural work that needed to be done, to the gorgeous trim work that I wouldn't have even known to ask for. It is still a small home (around 2000 square feet) but we use every inch of it, and every room is bright and clearly designed with love. We feel honored to live in a house that Anne designed, and look forward to many, many years of being the caretakers of such an amazing home.

It was truly a pleasure working with Anne. The job entailed remodeling our basement and building a screened in porch. This was our first home remodeling project ever and Anne and her crew expertly navigated us through the process. She helped us in setting the scope of our project considering our budget. Back a few years ago, we had 1 child and our 1100 sf house wasn't going to be enough room for additional children. Anne helped us design our dream home - a house big enough to accommodate future kids and a home to create a lifetime of family memories. She REALLY listened on the front end, and incorporated all our desires into the finished design. From the window seats, to the pocket doors, to wide stairs, to the master layout...everything is exactly how we'd want it. We don't feel like there are wasted or unused rooms b/c she helped tease out what we were really looking for. We feel like our house is truly unique. The enormous value of a good architect is that there are no (or few) surprises during the construction process. Anne also helped us go through the variance process with the local government to get an exception to build a wrap around porch on the exterior. Her knowledge of zoning and how everything fits together is impressive. An investment in good architecture/design is well worth it. We would HIGHLY recommend Anne.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with H. Anne Blakely Sciarrone. She was attentive to what I was looking for and was able to turn that vision into reality. She was diligent to work within the budget allotted but pushed me to imagine what the final product could be. She remained focused throughout the project working with the contractor and insuring that all details were addressed. She imagined what the renovation of my early 1900's bungalow could be and was able to make that happen. I continue to thoroughly enjoy the final product.

Anne Sciarrone is an outstanding architect. My husband and I hired her to renovate our unfinished basement. We had a few specific ideas but mainly an overall "gist" of what we wanted. Anne immediately captured our vision and created a design that met all of our desires and beyond. With Anne's design and ongoing guidance, we renovated a full-length basement with very low ceilings, a dozen or so structural support poles, and electrical/water units right in the middle of potentially useable space into a spa-like dream that receives rave reviews from every person of every age who walks in. She designed authentic interior stone walls (built by a mason) to match our existing exterior walls, a unique wine cellar, and a gorgeous staircase behind a beautiful bar. She maximized all space so that we have a large entertainment area with multiple sitting spots, a bedroom, a full bathroom, and an incredible storage space. She created an excellent interior/exterior flow. Now people come into our home and don't want to leave. Anne was professional at every stage of development and implementation, offered excellent color suggestions for paint, stains and linens, and was available for changes or questions throughout the process. She worked well with the contractor who did the renovation even though they had no prior relationship. She did not miss a single detail, involved us in the entire process, and was an absolute delight. We highly recommend her.

My company (Hammertime Construction inc) were very fortunate to be selected by the homeowners and Anne (architect) to perform the work for the Decatur whole house renovation and addition. This was our first project for Anne. From a general contractors perspective, Anne was a joy to work with, Always available should a question arise, and answers provided to keep us moving forward. Having worked on many/many similar scope projects, This project is one of our company favorites. They floor plan and flow of the new house works well and the attention to detail is second to none, The house completely fits in with its neighbors, even though a 1000SF addition was added upstairs, The front porch and entry steps really give the house charm and character. Anne is an incredible architect who does a great job of listening and combining form and function. She gave us everything we needed and more in a finished product that was more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. She took our "ugliest house on the block" and turned it into one of the best. Anne is there every step of the way to support you. We can't recommend her enough! She had incredible vision and great attention to detail. We have wonderful storage closets in every available corner but a beautiful open concept!
