We have worked with Christine Ussler, founder of Artefact, Inc., on five major projects, including an extensive renovation to a historic home in northern Bucks County. PA and a renovation of an apartment in Manhattan. We are obviously very pleased with her work since we have continually gone to her for architectural work for many years. Chris is thoroughly professional and extremely creative while never losing sight of the budget for the project. She is easy to work with, highly respected by contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors and imaginative when it comes to solving the inevitable problems the crop up along the way. The Artefact team did a superb job assisting us in designing and building an addition to our house -- a home office/studio. She and her assistant, Lucienne Di Biase Dooley, were a delight to work with at every stage. They listened carefully to our needs; they thought with sensitivity about the aesthetic of our home (and surrounding houses); they honored the limits of our budget; and they came up with a design that met all our needs -- and that we could afford to build. They recommended an excellent local builder to construct the addition -- and were available at every stage of the construction process to consult and to resolve issues that came up. The studio addition has dramatically enhanced our pleasure in our home -- and the value of the house. An outstanding architecture firm: small, sophisticated, sensitive, realistic, and committed to providing the kind of personal service you need when considering a major project of this kind. When we moved into our house in Bethlehem's historic district, we hired Artefact to handle an extensive remodeling of our kitchen. This was essentially a 'down to the studs' renovation, which involved moving the entry to a load-bearing wall. Everything about the work Chris Ussler did on the project was top notch, and though we have since moved on to a larger, more expensive house, we still look back fondly on that kitchen--it was the best space to cook in I've ever had. Ten years later, when we were ready to re-do our bathrooms, there was no question who we would call. The things Chris designed in our house were the hardest things to leave when we had to move!

I have worked on projects with Christine Ussler for 25 years. My specialty is interior design and development of color schemes. It has always been a pleasure to work on projects where Christine is the architect. She is very skilled and innovative and pays great attention to detail.
