Black Diamond Landscape and Lighting

Unreliable. Did preliminary work and then ghosted us despite multiple calls and emails. Never had such an experience with a supposedly reputable contractor.

I’ve been a customer of Black Diamond Landscaping for several years, and I couldn’t be happier with the work they’ve done. They completed a full landscaping overhaul on my property about three years ago, and it completely transformed the look and feel of my home. Since then, they’ve handled all of my ongoing maintenance, and the quality has never once slipped. Leo, in particular, has been exceptional. He’s hardworking, detail-oriented, and takes tremendous pride in his work. He shows up consistently, communicates clearly, and treats my yard like it’s his own. He doesn’t just maintain the property, he improves it. He notices small details, anticipates what needs attention, and always leaves everything looking immaculate. Because of Leo and the Blackdiamond team, my yard looks better now than it did right after the original install. Their reliability, craftsmanship, and professionalism set them apart. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my landscaping. Five stars without question.

Stephen and his team are awesome! I am not a visionary and needed to lean on them for ideas and direction. My backyard is a small area that was essentially a blank slate once I had trees and a fountain previously removed, providing more precious square feet. With Black Diamond and their recommended contractors’ help, I now have a beautiful pergola, lower living area with a fire pit and overall clean look. It’s also minimal water usage, ideal for UT. I plan to use Stephen and many of the contractors again. My only feedback is to stay in regular communication with all parties to ensure continuity. Won’t go with anyone else!

Did not complete the work, work that was done was poor. Topsoil was not installed under the lawn, no drainage, which was called out was never installed. Combined with the damage done to the home during their backfilling process led to leaking inside the home and pooling in the lawn. Never finished the front of the home, never installed the required and line itemized bluetooth controller. Boulder wall failing after one winter. To top it off, they filed a fraudulent lawsuit against me.

I’m very happy with the work they did for me. They were great communicators, friendly, straightforward, and honest. Everything was clear upfront and I always felt like I was in the loop with what was going on. I’m very happy with the results.

I worked with the Black Diamond Landscape and Lighting crew, which was fantastic. They were highly professional and hardworking. The hard landscape in our front and back yards looks amazing. Even after completing the job, they promptly addressed our needs and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Steve's expertise and willingness to educate us on proper maintenance were invaluable, and Jake's suggestions and commitment to staying within budget were truly impressive. I wholeheartedly recommend them to my friends and family.

Black Diamond was absolutely incredible and I'm recommending them to all my friends and family! Before and after photos show their amazing work but they're so much more than what you see. I had met with two other landscape companies before someone recommended Black Diamond to me. The first company asked what my budget was before anything regarding the project. When I gave him a broad range he wanted me to tell him exactly how much I was willing to pay. When I wouldn't be specific, he disengaged mentally and acted completely uninterested while I talked about the project. (I'm a woman and am certain misogyny was the issue.) The second company was certainly better but I didn't leave our meeting excited about the project or ready to jump in. I was wary to meet yet another landscaper but since they were recommended, I did. Steve came out to my house and it was a completely different experience from the others. He listened intently to my ideas, saw my vision, and had great suggestions when I asked for advice. He answered all my questions and explained the process clearly. It was amazing to finally have someone that seemed just as excited about my project as me. I was thrilled to sign a contract with Black Diamond and get started. My second meeting was with Jake, who would manage my project from start to finish. I had the same great experience with him as we talked through specifics and nailed down the details. Then the fun began. Jake and his team are absolutely amazing! They worked non-stop, day in and day out, and were so incredibly respectful and nice. I couldn't believe how they cleaned everything up, sweeping and tidying, every single night before they left. I was also blown away while they were laying the rock in the back yard, I noticed them placing each outline rock meticulously, then walking away a distance to look at it, then go back and move it an inch or two. I actually teared up knowing they were paying as much attention to detail as I would. Throughout the build, I was indecisive on a few things and changed my mind on several things. Jake was as an absolute saint and so patient while helping me make decisions and gracefully making changes I requested to work they had done exactly according to plan. Beyond planting trees/bushes and laying rock, my project included replacement of the entire previously useless irrigation system all the way from the city pipes, and creating a patio with wrap around steps. Black Diamond's technical skill with construction was invaluable. I could go on forever with so many incredible details I know wouldn't have happened with any other company. I absolutely cannot say enough about Black Diamond, Jake, and their entire team. I have them on speed dial to build my patio cover/pergola next. I recommend them 100%.

We utilized Black Diamond Landscaping for a major backyard renovation (large material removal, grading, drainage, turf tear out, in ground trampoline, landscape rock, irrigation work, and electrical work). We interviewed 5 landscapers and Black Diamond stood out for their personable attention to detail. And they actually had a detailed all encompassing bid. They stood by their quote and didn't have any add ons or incidentals. Steve/Jake brought up things in their consultation that we did not hear from other landscapers which made me feel more confident in contracting with them for a major investment/overhaul to our house. Both Steve and Jake have a tremendous amount of experience in landscaping and electrical and you can be assured that they will do an excellent job. They have a very experienced crew and are extremely thorough where other landscapers are just looking for the next job. They did a tremendous job and truly revitalized my backyard. Our kids absolutely love the yard and we feel like our house got quite a bit bigger since the project was finished. The pavers they did look incredible and there is a reason for that, they took their time. A lot of work went into prep and finishing. We really feel Black Diamond gave us an incredible value for the money we invested with them. We will absolutely go back to them in the future and have been recommending them to friends/family in the area. Great company and people, can't go wrong with them.

Black Diamond Landscaping and Lighting did a fantastic job of creating new landscaping at my home. They were professional, sharing good ideas and listening to my concerns and ideas. They were great to work with and I look forward to future projects with this company.

Exceptional customer service, frequent and candid communication, and they were professional throughout the entire project process. From concept to completion they were awesome! Did a great job implementing a landscape design, and accommodated my changes without question or raising the price. Worked quickly, 10 hours days in SLC's worst heat. Black Diamond is a awesome company! When When they were doing my House they kept me informed on my new sprinkler system and plants and what to expect over the next few weeks. they were extremely professional and they put my SOD in perfectly! I love my backyard now. I love having family over for barbecues so I can show off my amazing new landscape.
