Charlie Coull Design

Charlie is one of the most talented people I have met. She has vision and style and incorporates your specific requests and style into her designs. She’s always available, makes the process fun, adjusts to your work style and is very very professional. Charlie thinks of all the little details, ls is able to explain the rationale for each and every element she chooses and is very open to discussing pros and cons of each. She’s the Canadian version of Joanna Gaines.

We have been working with Charlie since the spring on some interior home renovations. I knew before meeting her we would be a great match in regards to style, but her keen eye to detail, impeccible taste, and professional attitude have really impressed us! I like that she offers a variety of options not only in terms of cost and style, but she considers function as well. With two young boys she is always considering how safe and realistic our choices are for our family. We will continue to work with Charlie until our home is finished and have had great feedback on how our home looks so far!

We hired Charlie to design a whole house renovation. The planning was started in April, and the Renovation commenced beginning of May. We moved in August 22nd and love it! It was a much bigger project than any of us anticipated, but Charlie kept us on track with items that needed to be decided on, sourced and installed. Her design is amazing and we absolutely love our "new" townhome. She is easy to work with and manages to satisfy the Client and the Contractor. She very quickly gets to know your style and sources just the right lighting, flooring, colours etc. that make a statement that is very individual and unique to a client.

In one word, Charlie is exceptional! We have worked with Charlie on two projects. The first project was in 2011 and it involved interior decorating and some design for our newly purchased house in Toronto. She met with us to understand our design aesthetic and from there she decorated and transformed our house into a modern and cool living space that suits us completely. We were so impressed with Charlie the first time around that we hired her for our bathroom and kitchen renovation in 2017. We couldn't be happier with the finished product! (see attached pictures). Again, Charlie met with us to understand our vision for the renovation and brought that vision to life. She has an amazing sense of style, great attention to detail, and was always respectful of our ideas and thoughts regarding budget, functionality, etc. Charlie also has many original ideas that we implemented in our renovation that sets it apart from other kitchens and bathrooms. She has a strong understanding of the trades required for a renovation, which helped us plan and schedule our renovation with various workers (e.g. millworker, fabricator, suppliers). She was also able to deal with our contractors directly on several occasions to answer questions they had about design plans, which saved us time and provided us with a level of comfort. Charlie was very responsive to our questions and prepared detailed electronic drawings with measurements of the proposed renovation before work commenced. These drawings were very easy to follow and provided great direction to our contractors in the completion of the work. Charlie truly is talented and was made for this line of work. We have consistently recommended Charlie to our family and friends who are considering their own renovations. We hope you consider her too! You won't be disappointed!

We hired Charlie on the advice of a friend for a major home renovation and are thrilled with her work. Our home is a 100+ year old Victorian so it had some special challenges. She was very patient throughout the design process and very collaborative. I changed my mind many times on the design of the kitchen and she was able to steer me in the right direction. I also wanted to be very involved in the choice of materials and she was supportive of that. I would say her greatest strength is her space planning/flow. The kitchen layout is so comfortable and smart and looks right for our house. She also did the third floor and was able to create a guest sanctuary up there. We had limited space and did not want to expand and she was able to squeeze in the most beautiful bathroom with some great storage. We will be using her again for Phase 2!

I was feeling overwhelmed with selecting paint colours for my home and came upon a recommendation for Charlie Coull Design. I was very impressed and so decided to meet with her for a colour consultation. I was so impressed with her paint colours, that I immediately had her refurnish my house with new furnishings, window treatments and carpeting. I was impressed with the level of detail she provided with all her recommendations, documenting them all for me on paper. She has amazing instincts when it comes to colour selection. I wanted to have a whole colour scheme that would flow well - she knows the BM paint colours like the back of her hand and has terrific instincts on selecting colours. Her sense of style and aesthetic is spot on. She is wonderful to work with, never pushy and very easy to talk to. When she selected the colours...i wasn't sure BUT, i had faith in her innate ability for design and trusted all the colours she recommended. She is professional and personal. I love coming home everyday to my beautiful serene home. I have no qualms in using Charlie for any future projects or recommending her to family or friends.

South Park teamed up with Charlie in gutting an Annex home on the ground and third floors. Charlie has been wonderful to work with. She is a very good communicator, patient and always kind and respectful with the trades. Her drawings are detailed and she tries to be on top of all site changes. Innovative and inspiring designs have helped pull together a hundred year old home into a transitional masterpiece. Charlie is very attentive with our mutual client and brings her wealth of design knowledge to our collaborative table. Highly recommend Charlie Coull Design !!

Charlie was amazing to work with and transformed our 6 bathrooms into the high-end luxurious rooms we were looking for. I am not sure what to say about our foyer.....only that it is truly SPECTACULAR!!!! Anyone that has stepped through the foyer has been "WOWED". We quite literally have people asking for her name every time they come into our home. Charlie went above and beyond accommodating our busy schedule and added every extra touch I imaged within budget. Her service was unbelievable and she really listened to the concept, style and colour theme we wanted.
