Chas Architects has design two homes for us. The first house he designed was based on a Tuscan style and the most recent (which is still under construction) is Texas Hill Country. We could not be more pleased with the outcomes of both these projects. Charles Travis has an exceptional ability to create "era-specific" designs, is very patient with the home owner and always has a ready suggestion so as to help the owner achieve a highly personal design.

Charles Travis did a wonderful job guiding us through the process of designing our dream home and helping us find the right builder and designer as well. A terrific listener, he is creative and loves to solve problems. Charles is detailed oriented and has a terrific sense of space.

The best decision we made with our project was hiring Chas Architects. Charles is a true artist. His creativity and problem solving abilities are beyond compare. And he has a talented team that we loved working with. We hired Charles to design a modern version of a Spanish Colonial home. He was able to get into our heads and design exactly what we were thinking, only better! We had such a great experience working with Charles and his team that we referred him to two other couples. Our friends wanted homes very different than ours...one French the other a ranch home. Charles was hired for both projects and our friends are thrilled with his work. Charles can take on any style flawlessly!

Our experience with Chas Architects, and specifically Charles Travis, was a absolutely wonderful. He exceeded our expectations and our Texas hill country home and guest house projects were a joy to experience. Of the many strengths and talents Charles exhibits, his quiet and focused listening and then amazing translation of the various ideas and dreams tossed around during discussions of our project, were the strongest. We hired Charles Travis - owner of Chas Architects - to build our 5,000 sq ft Italianate house in the Barton Creek area outside of Austin, Texas. We couldn't have asked for a more collaborative and responsive relationship. We were thrilled with the outcome. Charles has so much talent. I highly recommend him.

Extremely respectful of our wants and incorporated this in the final design. We started our project with another architect firm who drew what they wanted and had no concept to the cost of building. We actually tossed our original plans and then Chas designed a timeless house that was in our requested dollar amount. Extremely thorough and attentive. The design team is a step above.
