I was starting a new business and did not have much experience in renovating an existing space. Cicely Hall was exceptional in being able to bring my vision to life. She was great with taking "I want it to look modern, but not too much, feel warm and welcoming, but also professional", and coming up with a great solution. An added benefit were the trades that she recommended to do the work. I couldn't have been happier with the final result.

Cicely was a delight to work with. She helped transform our small, dated bathroom into a lovely addition to our home. She is very knowledgeable about the design aspects as well as knowing all the best places to find beautiful tile, granite, vanities, and lighting. She worked with with me and the contractors every step of the way to ensure the quality of the work, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I would definitely work with her again.

So impressed with Cicely Hall. I hired her on an as-needed consulting basis and she has been a great help with kitchen design, paint, light fixtures, tile, window treatments, furniture - you name it. She really listens to your taste and provides solid advice and recommendations. In my case with multiple projects going on, she has provided greater focus to help see things through to completion. She was sensitive to my cost constraints as well and found ways to utilize existing furniture and fixtures in more appealing ways that I hadn't thought of. Plan to continue to work with her. Highly recommend.

I recently worked with Cicely on carpet and flooring specifications for a woman's shelter, one of Cicely's philanthropic projects. She devotes the same dedication and attention to detail to a charitable endeavor helping disadvantaged women as to a job for a paying customer. That's the mark of a true professional. I have worked with Cicely on two projects and only have great things to say about the experience and the results. Cicely has a strong sense of design, and a creative way of seeing a room and the end result. She quickly learned my taste ( and budget) and understood how to incorporate what I like into materials, furniture, fabrics, etc that were true to my personality yet showed a flair that I never could have pulled off without her. We have used Cicely Hall's designer services several times, most recently twice in the last two years. She has great strength in being able to blend old (meaning old, as well as antique) with new...I am speaking specifically of upholstery and changes in color variations, as well as mixing of furniture styles. After I described window shades I had seen in a museum, she was able to find solar shades which do not detract from the character of our late 19th century Boston town house. As expected, we were not in residence when the shades were installed and our confidence was not misplaced; they were installed perfectly.

Commented: how do I update this fireplace/ mantle?I've seen some beautiful marble used as fireplace surrounds. This looks like a very traditional fireplace; what is the rest of the room like? More pictures would spark a better conversation.
