Our house was built 71 years ago and the bathroom needed remodeling. The cast-iron bathtub was proving difficult to get out of after showering. We are in our seventies. The toilet was too low to sit comfortably and the shutoff value for the water leaked. Requiring a container be kept under it so the floor wouldn't get wet. The inside of the medicine cabinet was rusting and the mirror was hard to see your reflection. Plus the lights in each side of the unit, didn't work anymore. The floor tiles were cracking and buckling. It was time to update the bathroom. We had contracted with Country Gentlemen about six years ago to replace our kitchen counter, so we didn't guess on what firm we wanted to engage to remodel the bathroom. We called Bill Mannise, owner and operator in October 2020 and told him our plans and wanted him and his work crew to do the remodeling of our bathroom. Bill visited our home. Took measurements, answered our questions, etc. He got back to us in less than a week with the estimate and tentative date to begin the work: April 2021. Because of previous commitments and contracts it was the earliest, but assured us if his completion of other jobs, he would be able to begin earlier. We agreed, visited the showroom in North Syracuse to choose the shower stall, toilet, medicine cabinet, lights and flooring. After deciding what we desired, we signed the contract, paid the initial down payment for the supplies, etc. to be bought by Bill and waited. Shortly before Thanksgiving we received a telephone call from Bill stating he had an opening for January and if we would like him to do the job then. He had completed some contracts and could honor ours by starting on the remodeling Monday, January 4, 2021. The answer was, "Yes!" The day arrived, Country Gentlemen Remodeling owner Bill Mannise and crew entered our home and started the necessary work to remodel our bathroom. Working in unison, and well-planned methods work, utilized starting the removable of the bathtub and replacing it with the shower stall, Putting in new subflooring, laying out new vinyl linoleum and placing ceramic tiles along the bottom of the walls over new floor, completed the work necessary for setting the new toilet tank, Lastly was the placing of the new medicine cabinet over the sink and the light fixture. In three days Bill, Leeda, Colby and Mike turned our three-quarters of a century bathroom into a 21st Century masterpiece spa.
