Precision Custom Home Builders completed our house in 2023 and we have been very happy with the house they built – clearly a 5 star end product. The house is a 9,000+ square foot custom home under a cost plus type of contract arrangement and the build had a fair amount of complexity. Dan & Katy (the builder), Ben (project manager – at the site each day and our main point of contact for day to day Q&A type items), Larry (quality control and good at passing inspections) and Jared (preconstruction, project costing/bids and start of build) are a 5 star team. We are happy with our choice to have Precision build our house. The team is knowledgeable and provides good value. The sub-contractors understand the quality level required by Precision and if anything was below Precision standards, Jared/Ben/Larry/Katy made sure it got done to their standards at no additional cost to us. Dan typically came to the site when there were more technical decisions to be made about how to address an issue, otherwise the rest of the team handled the construction process. The Precision team was responsive and built a good rapport with us which took some of the stress out of the building process. They were also good at listening to our questions and coming up with balanced, practical solutions. One item for improvement would be increased transparency on the invoice amounts (like providing billing details or summary schedules) so we could see what was behind the number on the invoice. We get into the details more than most people and with a little time investment on our part (reconciling budget vs. actual by category and then calling Precision with questions) we were able to figure out the billing, but in our mind the ease of use for the homeowner could be improved in the billing area. After we took possession of the house, there were a few open “punch out” type items that needed to be completed (we were in a hurry to get into the house) and Precision has been very good about coming back to finish the items on the list. Overall, we are very happy with our new home and would hire Precision again.

Precision Custom Homes has built a beautiful, quality custom home for me in the mountains. I cannot say enough good things about the Precision team – trustworthy, dedicated to their jobs, exceptional communication, great folks to work with. The initial process of picking out all allowances was daunting at first but I quickly realized that it was a critical piece of the build to keep Precision and me on track. Any delays were due to vendor supply issues but work continued as best it could. Dan, Katy, Jared, Tad and Brittany were always responsive to my questions. And Ben Wells – so knowledgeable and patient. As my project manager, Ben was always quick to respond to my questions, concerns and changes. He helped me make lots of decisions that were spot-on. Thank you Precision Team!

After much research I decided to go with Precision Custom Homes to design and build my house from the ground up. After the first meeting I felt comfortable in knowing the process would be less intimidating than I had expected. The communication was impeccable from the beginning. Dan, Katy and their entire team knew their jobs and did them professionally. They explained everything they were doing throughout the entire process. They were easy to reach when I needed to reach them. I am in my home almost a year now and couldn't be happier. 7/13/23 Update/Edit: We did see the builder and discussed many of the concerns below. I do believe that PCHB will avidly work on the communication, making for a better experience all around. We chose Precision after several meetings with Dan for the custom build of our home. We wanted and made it a point to hire a hands on builder, this was discussed in detail and was "sold" to us during consultations relating to the build process; however, once the contract was signed, we never saw or heard from Dan again. The communication needs much improvement, as well as transparency. A more truthful approach during previous meetings would have allowed us to make an educated decision on whether the builder was right for us and vice versa. There were expectations discussed early on that were simply not met, and we were blindsided by a 3 month wait after signing the contract before Precision was able to grade the property, sighting grader availability and a "we are in line," reply. We would have taken measures to prepare for this had we known ahead of time. Understanding trade predictability is often difficult nowadays; back up measures discussed prior were not delivered. As previous home builders, we are not novices to building a home and understand no build is perfect; however we felt many aspects of the process were handled poorly by Precision, and when proposed restrictions were put on us on who we could and could not communicate with in relation to our build, this accomplished taking an already poor builder/client relationship and turned it into no relationship. We know that our home design was a first for Precision, all the more reason for open communication. We are hopeful that Precision Custom Home Builders will improve in areas that may have gotten lost along the way of business. As a principal owner of Precision, Dan needed to be more effective at listening to us as his client, as well as be more forthcoming as to his role in the company, take an initiative to be involved in some small way, perhaps show up at the end of the build to say congrats, a congratulatory note or small gesture of appreciation to your client whose home now showcases your website. Our foreman, Ben Wells is to be commended. He is 5 star and really went above and beyond from the beginning of the build to the end. His assistance with the project, and his attention to detail made for a quality home build and aided in building trust loss. In addition, he stayed in touch with us and made difficult decisions somewhat easier. He was an integral part of the building of our modern home and we are truly grateful.

Amazing Builder, Amazing Process and unbelievable customer service. We're 1/2 way through our build and from your first meeting / quote with Dan to the design and build process the team has been nothing but positive, honest courteous and they sprinkle in a bit of fun along with it! I highly recommend this builder, after building 4 other semi-custom homes and seeing the job sites, quality of work etc. I had expected a bit more from a custom home but not this level of work - I have never seen such attention to detail, clean worksites, and "precision"!! :-) I'll gladly gush to anyone who wants to listen, this is THE BEST BUILDER, period!

We picked a bad time to build a custom home in hindsight. Inflation and interest rates filled our building experience with stress and uncertainty. The only reason we were able to weather these uncertain times was because of Precision. Here are some of the highlights from our experience: The team at precision is outstanding at communication. Through phone calls, emails, or texts, they get back to you quickly. Questions, concerns, updates, and changes don't fall through the cracks. Related to communication, the Precision team made me feel like I was their only customer. They made my project feel like a priority. They were personally invested in my happiness and satisfaction. The precision team makes quality homes. It's not just pretty paint and finishes, either. The home is solid. Sturdy foundation, solid framing, expert plumbing and electric, beautiful custom built-ins. This home was made to last. They delivered our dream house. From the plan design through the walk-throughs up to the final product, we got exactly what we asked for (although over budget due to inflation). Thank you Dan, Katy, Jared, Tad, Brittany, Larry, and everyone else. It was great working with you!

We moved from Dallas Georgia to Jasper Georgia. Out of several builders in the Pickens county area we choose Precision Custom Homes. Precision provided a list of clients that we were welcome to speak to, this along with the reviews we read helped us make or decision. We already had our property and Dan came out, walked the property and provide input on placement of the house. The build went faster than the proposed timeline and we moved in three months ahead of schedule. We appreciated the process provided by Precision Custom Homes for us to follow. This ensured that all our features and fixtures where here when needed, not causing any delays in on the build. If there was anything we wanted changed, the change process used was beneficial for all parties. Everyone on the team was very professional, and attentive to our needs. The quality and craftsmanship of our home is exceptional and we continually receive compliments on it. We love our new home and would recommend Precision Custom Homes to anyone looking for a dependable, high quality contractor.

My biggest anxiety when selecting a builder was finding a reliable and honest builder who could build a quality home. Someone you can trust. Precision builders met and exceeded all expectations. From the design process all the way through construction. Building a home in the middle of a global pandemic and supply chain crisis had its challenges. Precision guided us every step of the way. Now that we are living in our mountain dream home we pinch ourselves every day and are thankful that we found a high quality building company comprised of wonderful individuals.

We moved to GA from VA to build our custom retirement house in 2021. Our son, who had contracted with Precision Custom Home Builders (PCHB) to build a house in 2020, recommended we use PCHB based on his positive experience. We met with some of the PCHB team (Dan, Katy, Brittany, Jared, Brandon) to review our plans and listen to their recommendations so that we could keep within our budget. They were most helpful, patient, accommodating, and professional, so we decided to contract with PCHB to build our new house--the Sagecrest design. It can be a bit intimidating to build a new, custom home, but PCHB "held our hands" throughout all the preliminary work of getting permits, surveys, etc., and meeting with vendors. All the vendors that PCHB recommends offer top-quality materials and workmanship, plus we have found them all very helpful in deciding which materials to use. Our house is scheduled to be finished in about 2 months, which will be 2 months ahead of our contracted schedule. Throughout the building process, the PCHB team has been readily available to meet with and assist us with our many questions and walkthroughs. Their ability to schedule sub-contractors, who they trust, is very impressive, and there has hardly been a day go by without workers on site. We have met with many of them onsite, and we have always been impressed with their expertise. Their project managers, Jared and Brandon are onsite almost daily to verify progress and quality of work. PCHBs are very, very good at scheduling and making sure all the work is finished right. Any building project runs into some field changes and mistakes, but PCHB always corrects any shortcomings that come up on site. I can't emphasize how very important their teamwork on getting it right is to provide us with full confidence in knowing, it will be done right. This building time period has presented many difficulties for the PCHB team, and us, because of the current supply chain delays and backorders caused by all the Covid-related economy issues. For example, it appeared that we weren't going to be able to get the shake siding we wanted; however, the PCHB team called over 10 of their suppliers and were able to find them. They are very persistent. Also, we had to wait over 5 months before the last of our windows were delivered for installation! However, PCHB kept the project moving throughout it all. We will update this post once we have finished the project, but until then we have nothing but positive things to say about PCHB.
