Danny Veirs, his son Colby, his crew and the specialists that he brings to a job are uniformly skilled, dedicated to quality workmanship, and maintain a very tidy working environment. Danny brought all of this and his creative insights to our master bedroom and bathroom remodeling. He was able to look at the available space and accommodate many quirks of immovable (read too expansive to move) constraints to come up with the optimum layout for increased shower, storage and vanity space while creating a new master closet, all without sacrificing the livability of the bedroom. Throughout the project, Danny provided insights that worked, implemented clever technological touches and adapted to any changes that were needed to produce a remarkable improvement in our lifestyle. He also supported many tangential improvements to the furnace room and exterior of the house that were uncovered and supported other workers that we brought in to address those. At all times, his communication was constant and clear. It was like having a friend lend us a hand. Our recommendation is heartfelt and unreserved. Danny makes home remodeling smooth sailing and that's a real feat!

In my experience, you don't often find contractors who are as invested in getting the best outcome as you are, but that's what sets DH Veirs apart from others. In the few projects I've done with DH Veirs, Danny and his team take the time to do things right, often advising me on changes to the plans to make things function, endure or look better. Danny has a great eye, attention to detail and works very closely with his team and client to guide the project forward. It's a real partnership type of feel. Danny recommended design changes to our kitchen plans, fully designed the details of our screen porch, suggested repositioning doors and light switches, designed moldings for exterior windows, etc. I also commend Danny for being responsive to calls of urgency. We had a tree fall on our house and do considerable damage and Danny interrupted his schedule to get everything repaired. In another project, an exceptional rain storm began flooding the construction area, and Danny was at our home on a Sunday making sure no damage was done. Danny Veirs and his employees are fantastic to work with. Not only was the renovation of our kitchen impeccable and beautiful, they completed the job on time (never had happened before)! Danny Veirs was outstanding. He has an excellent judgement and very high standards. Moreover, everyone is his crew and the subcontractors he uses is extremely nice and professional. We renovated our kitchen and it was a surprisingly pleasant experience. His original cost estimate, while higher than other contractors, was spot on with minimal additional costs along the way. He also went above and beyond when it came to fixing things that were outside the scope of the initial contract (for example, he built a removable cabinet that allows access to the crawl space below the kitchen) with no extra charge. The kitchen turned out great. I recommend him in the strongest possible terms.

Danny Veirs came highly recommended from a neighbor and we couldn't be more pleased. He is truly a craftsman and exceeded our expectations. He transformed unused space above our family room into 2 bedrooms and a bathroom . The team was professional, meticulous and left our house cleaner each day than when they started. They were respectful to our family, especially with little kids at home during the day. Danny had great vision and was able to offer creative suggestions for a small space, such as sizing and placement of windows, vanity, linen closet, and fixtures. Everyone who walks into our new space is immensely impressed. The details in the rooms are amazing, down to every last finish. The closets he made for our kids are top quality, with special touches we would never have thought of: custom shelving and shoe racks (which Dan made himself), custom rods, and unique lighting suggestions which actually light the entire closet. It was recommended by our architect to do individual room air conditioners, and Danny spent a lot of time discussing how centralized units would be better. He was so right, and we are so glad we listened to him! Dan Veirs came in on budget, even though we wound up changing things along the way. He was conscientious about our budget and made sure to keep us on track. He finished right on time; all of us (including our neighbors) were amazed at how quickly the project was done. Danny is a master in the field and I give him my highest recommendation. It is obvious that he approaches each project as if he were working on his own house and the result shows.

DH Veirs is an excellent contracting company with the ability to take on any project large or small with a degree of diligence that is hard to find today. Danny Veirs and his friendly and polite crew remodeled my 1931 bungalow kitchen and one bath, as well as custom built a wonderful bookcase and painted the entire house. Dan has an excellent eye for design as does his assistant Shannon and likes and respects older homes. He is one of the most amiable and more importantly constantly keeps track of the work going on and on the site to make sure all is in order. He is most helpful in choosing materials, accessories for kitchens and baths and able to remedy any misjudgments by the owner. He keeps up with the times but Respects the original house. He is also an unusually nice human being.

The DH Veirs contracting company completely met my needs in both the result and my budget. Danny is extremely knowledgeable about construction, remodeling and additions and shared the possible ideas with me and my son. He made suggestions where we could use the limited amount of room to our advantage, where we could save money, and basically get "more bang for our buck". His workers were professional and I always trusted them in my home. They were neat, courteous and friendly. When they could not answer a question they quickly called Danny for the answer. Danny was open to my emails and phone calls during the job. This was important because my son was doing the electrical portion of the job and they had to coordinate working on the job at various times. I was impressed how well they worked together as to who would work when and the ability to stay out from under each other's way. He met deadline and I am more than pleased with the results. I now have a cozy basement suitable for my son, his wife and their new baby son!

We have had the pleasure of collaborating on several design/remodel projects with DH Veirs over the past several years. We highly appreciate and admire the level of detail and thoroughness exhibited in all of their plans and specifications. We had major damage to our brick&block house due to a neighbor's tree falling on it -- a corner of our house was completely demolished. We needed new masonry, a new roof structure, roof, and siding, a new window, and plumbing and electrical repairs. DH Veirs came out the day after the damage took place, gave us an honest estimate in both time and cost, performed quality work, and stuck with the estimate. A significant benefit was that we had the same two very high quality workers doing most of the interior throughout the 3-month repair job. The only area in which things weren't perfect was in helping us sort out what our insurance company would and would not cover. In the end it all worked out fine. We would hire them again, and would recommend DH Veirs to our neighbors.

This was my first experience working with Dan Veirs and his company and it was a job well done! Dan came highly recommended by another contractor who had done some concrete work at my house and he was local to my community of Kensington, so I was happy to use his services. Dan replaced my exterior porch overhang...completely redesigning it and building it from scratch. I was most impressed by the quality of the workmanship..his crew was excellent. But, the most impressive part of the process was Dan's own creative ideas. I basically knew how I wanted the porch to look, but he took it to another level with his suggestions, all of which were perfect! I have had several neighbors comment on how nice the new overhang looks and would certainly not hesitate highly recommending Dan Veirs. I hope to use his company again soon for a bathroom update!

In Dec 2009 a crack in the master bath shower pan caused the ceiling to collapse in my entrance hall damaging the floor as well. I knew that I would need to either be my own general contractor hiring all needed to replace the pan, redo the tile work, install a new ceiling, rewire and install a new light fixture in the entrance hall and repair the floor or find a contractor who could do it all. I also decided to upgrade the shower as well at this same time. Several neighbors recommended Dan Veirs. I couldn't have been happier with the quality of his staff's workmanship and the speed with which they did the work. I had two other estimates. Dan's estimate was on the higher end but I am glad I went with him and his team. They went the extra step to find tile to closely match my exiting tile and even found grab bars that went with my shower fixtures. I was so impressed with the tile work that I later hired Dan again to repair some loose slate on my front steps. I learned that many of his crew have been with him for years. It's now three years since he did the work and I am still happy with the result.
