EmV has transformed our 1994 house from a 'needs help' house to a beautiful comfortable home that fits our needs and wants. Being new to Tucson five years ago, we met with a number of designers and builders with the goal of converting our very needy master bathroom and master bedroom into a livable area. Once we found Edith Villalobos our choice was made - and EmV did more than make it livable. It became a wonderfully designed and built living space that meets our needs and wants. Edith not only considered the house in preparation for the job, she also considered us: our personalities and tastes. We shopped with her, shared design interests and preferences, and learned quite a bit about both the design and build aspects of the job. Because EmV is so immersed in both the design and build process, planning was a seamless process. Since then we have had renovations to our laundry room, our guest bathroom, and the hallway powder room. Anytime we have a question it is quickly addressed. Anytime we are unclear on anything, we are consulted. Anytime follow-up is needed, it is taken care of quickly, respectfully, and with quality. We have more work to do in the living room and kitchen and will be calling on EmV to complete the work for us. It's a rare quality in a business these days to not only maintain professionalism with clients, as does EmV, but also to make the clients feel special and important. That's what EmV is all about. Working with Edith has been a pleasure. I constantly tell my coworkers, friends and family that the best decision we made when remodeling our house was to hire Edith. My husband and I bought a 1961 brick ranch house in "as-is" condition with the intention of gutting the home. We saw the potential hidden beneath years of disrepair and neglect and Edith helped us shape our vision of the home and make it happen. Her expertise as both an interior designer and general contractor made that possible. As a designer she assisted us with selecting tile, cabinets, appliances, paint color, and the list goes on. Whereas other contractors would have given us an allotment for appliances, Edith went with us to the kitchen and bath stores and helped us navigate the huge variety of options. She immediately directed us to appliances and fixtures that were in our budget and fit our needs. This significantly cut down on the time and stress associated with those decisions. She also saved us money through this process. She suggested less expensive options of tile based on what we liked in the showroom and she was also able to negotiate discounted contractor pricing with some of the vendors. At the end of the project, I felt that everything we picked was a great value and we splurged only on things that we truly wanted while cutting costs on things that were less of a priority. As a contractor she managed the entire project professionally and transparently. She continually kept tabs on all of the subcontractors and relayed their comments and concerns to us in a timely manner. As with any large project, there were unforeseen challenges. She kept us informed and I always felt that we were in control. When we unexpectedly needed to replace all of the plumbing in the home, the home inspection did not give any warning of this, Edith bid the project out to multiple plumbers. The original plumber came back with the best pricing and we ultimately stayed with the original plumber. Edith put the entire project on hold during this time to help us reassess the project and ultimately move forward. Even with this setback, we were able to move into the home on time. She was also able to put pressure on the subcontractors to repair any mistakes and make sure everything was perfect. There were multiple times that she made the subcontractors come back because their work did not meet her standards of quality. Because of this she was able to take the vision we had discussed during the design of our project and implement it perfectly. I 100% recommend Edith for any interior design project and/or contracting services. Her ability to balance both equally well is a rare skill. Edith had a great impact on our renovation and our home is a much better place because of her time and effort.

I've worked with Edith directly on a very detailed high end custom home for the past year and have been highly impressed with Edith's work ethic, communication skills, and knowledge of the finishing stages of construction.
