Chuy's Tile Works

I recently used Chuy's Tile Works for my master bathroom remodel. I couldn't be happier. In addition to the fact that my bathroom looks amazing, the team, Gustavo, Edmund and Alex are professional, punctual and highly skilled at their craft. It was such a relief to have such a great group help me. I found their prices reasonable and in line with other bids; they worked quickly and efficiently. I will use them again for the next bathroom!

I started communicating with Gustavo in Dec/Jan about tiling my floors in the entryway, kitchen, 2 baths, and redoing my guest shower - total demo and reconstruct. He came over with an estimate in Jan and was selected for the job after comparing 3 other bids. While not the lowest bid, his price was competitive and I was swayed by his positive reviews on here. We agreed in Feb on a specific start date in March and I was told work would take 2 weeks- max 3. Gustavo agreed to work with my request of going through the proper licensing/permit process and he did make a large effort on my behalf going to the office, setting up the apts, making the phone calls, finding a licensed plumber, doing the paperwork, etc. All phases of his work passed inspection the first time and I'm comforted by the fact that I have the proper documentation to show prospective buyers. Gustavo is the Nephew of Chuy. Gustavo is young and friendly. His crew speaks mainly Spanish. They were respectful of my home and did their best to clean up each day. The quality of their work can not be faulted. My main "gripe" (if you will) would be the time-management of the project. My small job took over 4 weeks to complete when I was quoted probably 2, max 3. I work out of town a lot and have a tenant so it was a lot to juggle. I know jobs do tend to get drawn out, but there were multiple days where the crew wasn't there for a full day of work. Gustavo has a lot of work and jobs going on at once. Some days we would see the same workers and some days they would be pulled to work elsewhere. Gustavo could have benefited from sitting down and mapping out an exact time line of the project before starting to maximize the effectiveness of his days. Sometimes a 2 hour project would get done and we'd have to wait for the next day to move on because whoever was needed for the next step wasn't available to stop by. While Gustavo has numerous great qualities, efficiency isn't high on the list. What is wonderful about Gustavo is his "go above and beyond" attitude. He would meet me in parking lots to swap keys, I felt comfortable with him having access to my house, when we got behind schedule he stayed at my house until 9pm one evening, when he scratched my new toilet seat- he went and got a new one at Lowes. He put up with my parents and friends house sitting when I had to leave town for work. He communicated remotely constantly to make sure I was happy with the work being done. He is a friendly guy with a good heart. Home Improvement projects never finish mishap free. There are always unexpected bumps in the road meaning extra time and money. Taking all of the above in consideration, I would hire Gustavo and his crew again. I have no regrets and I love my new shower!

I had the pleasure of speaking with Chuy today. What a nice young man, very professional, patient, provided specific directions to my inquiry. My husband and I are doing a bathroom renovation and I wanted to confirm how to properly prepare. Chuy was very kind when his sharing experience and a pleasure to speak with. Gustavo with Chuy's Tile Works, was our top pick after interviewing several other businesses. The reason was, he listened to our ideas and worked with the products that we chose, and added lots of his own very artistic skill and advise. He's VERY articulate and really on top of making every project he works on very perfect and like a piece of art. I could see that in him when we first went over the projects with him. We had totally gutted 2 bathrooms and had him recreate them....everyone that sees them is very impressed, as we are with him! I would totally, and have, referred him to others and already have another project in our kitchen in mind for him.

Chuy's Tile Works installed approximately 400 SqFt of tile in our kitchen, dining room and bathroom. We had several different contractors working on our house at the time, and Gustavo (the owner of Chuy's) was by far the most professional of them all. He gave us a competitive bid, wrote up a detailed contract, and delivered on budget and on time. Gustavo and his guys were very detailed in their work and respectfully cleaned up their worksite at the end of every day. They even came back to touch-up some small details after the job was finished. Bottom line: Gustavo was a pleasure to work with and the end product looks fantastic.

We highly recommend Gustavo and his team. We hired his company to install a custom shower & bathroom floor. He really took the time to speak with us every step of the way to make sure we were satisfied with each phase of the remodel. The final result truly turned out amazing and we are beyond happy with the final product. The price was excellent, work was detailed, and job was completed right on schedule. We look forward to working with Gustavo on our upcoming projects in our home. We will refer his company to our friends and family.

Just finished getting new porcelain tile for our kitchen floor. Gustavo is a genius and EVERY recommendation he made came out gorgeous. His crew (Esteban and Felipe) were professional, knowledgeable and CLEAN. Every day they cleaned up and when the job was done they did detail finish cleaning and my kitchen was cleaner after they left than when they arrived. Gustavo had quite a few design challenges with our floor and he took the time to figure out what would work best and NAILED it. He never sacrificed quality for time and since we're "old school" we really appreciated his expertise. We would highly recommend him and his outstanding crew. From estimate to project finish he met his schedule, was on time every day and worked the entire day so as not to delay the havoc a construction project can have on the homeowner.
