I wanted to have a banquette (storage benches/eating nook) built into our small kitchen to make the most of the space we do have. I searched houz.com and found Hagen Woodworks. I contacted Gary Hagen and he came to our home and designed, built, and installed the banquette for us. He suggested making it with large pull-out drawers instead of cabinets which has proven to be a fabulous idea as it saves one having to get down on the floor to search the back of the storage space to see what is back there. With the drawers I can simplly pull out the drawer and the contents are easy to see and access. I could not be more pleased with the results of this project and am looking forward to having him make more improvements in our home.

Gary is a great resource for contractors, architects and interior designers, As a designer, I have worked with him on several interior projects and hope to work with him on many more. He takes pride in his work, offers insightful, solution-oriented ideas, he's timely and most importantly for me, he's communicative. He always checks in with me to ensure that the design vision is correctly interpreted from my elevations and design drawings. I worked with Gary on the Pasadena Showcase House 2013 where we built in cabinetry under sloped ceilings to maximize hard-to-access space. He worked with another woodwork company (we added extensive built-ins) to ensure a seamless transition from his wall of cabinetry to theirs. He also built our custom vanity in the Showcase bathroom incorporating our shallow depth requirements, our mirror-faced doors and upper cabinetry storage needs. Gary always goes above and beyond what is asked of him. I highly recommend Hagen's Woodworks for your next project.

We hired Hagen's Woodworks to build a large built-in television/storage cabinet in our bedroom, as well as building all shelving and cupboards for our basement craft room and food storage spaces. The quality of workmanship is excellent. Gary Hagen is attentive to details, is great at hearing our ideas and expectations, and offers ideas and suggestions when we just aren't sure what we want but know that we want something. He works quickly, but refuses to skimp on the details--you won't ever hear him say, "It's not perfect, but no one is going to notice that small problem." The final project is as beautiful as we envisioned and hoped it would be. His built-in work has definitely added value to our home. Performed detailed custom cabinetry remodeling for my kitchen to match existing finish. Gary also created new cabinets to accomodate new appliances. I also hired Hagen's Woodworks to build me a custom wood mantle for my fireplace as well as a custom hearth with built in shelves. The final product was gorgeous. Gary is efficient and finishes tasks on time. Will definitely use him in the future
