Interior Trends Remodel & Design

We were interviewing remodeling companies and Kathy Nieto and Interior Trends stood out. Kathy is very straightforward, confident, and a pro. Kathy’s accessibility is key, and when contacted, there is a positive response. Every now and then, you want to talk to the boss, and she’s there for you when needed. The project timeline as presented in the proposal was hit almost to the day. What was agreed upon in the proposal was delivered in the timeline stated. The holistic pricing model was appreciated, and it was nice having everything in house, all inclusive, from design to project management. Any change orders that occurred were not buyer mistakes, they were good add-ons. The change orders that we did enhanced the design and were worth it. They did not delay the project. The base project plus change order costs came in on budget. We had a vision of what we wanted to do, and in a relatively quick period of time, Michael, Interior Trends in-house designer, recognized that vision. There was a good alignment between our vision and the designer. Michael was very professional, he kept us on track, we enjoyed the joint shopping trips, and he was also mindful of staying within price points. Carrie’s cabinet designs were great. It’s the most functional kitchen we’ve ever had. The design experience was very personal. This was our first whole house remodel and found there are inactive periods during construction. Faith is required on how all the pieces come together. Knowing we could go out of town and everything would still move forward is what we wanted. When needed we could facetime and everything stayed on track. Communication was great and everyone was delightful to work with. Projects like ours take time, and you have to be patient, but it’s so rewarding when done. Interior Trends met our expectations 100%.

Interior Trends remodeled my kitchen, retiled and painted much of the house. They were very professional, considerate and timely in their work. They were knowledgeable in all aspects of the project and had good relations with Tucson suppliers of appliances, hardware and materials. We ran into some challenges which they easily dealt with.

When speaking with our electrician for a remodeling firm referral, he highly recommended Interior Trends and their work. After visiting the office and speaking with Kathy and meeting with Michael, we knew this was a very professional firm, innovative and well-run; and we were convinced we wanted to work with them. Since we have a period home, we wanted to create something that would be in keeping with the character of the house as well as a design to fit the space. Carrie was very patient and I really appreciated that she was willing to work with me on several alternative layouts to test ideas and evolve the design. Additionally, the overall project management that Interior Trends offers is a dependable and comprehensive service along with quality subs and trades. Everyone on the project was very experienced and skilled, and we appreciated knowing that they would deliver the project as promised. Our friends and family have been blown away by the results. It has truly been a pleasure to work with everyone at Interior Trends Remodel & Design. Their responsiveness, attention to detail, and care of their clients has been so appreciated. We definitely recommend them and will work with them again in the future.

Interior Trends Remodel & Design is a wonderful team of professionals! After building two houses from the ground up, as well as remodeling several homes, I had a very clear idea of what I wanted, as most of the existing footprint remained the same. They were very helpful in reconfiguring the master bedroom & bath. One of the reasons I was attracted to the company was Kathy Nieto as owner/director. I had never worked with a woman as general contractor and thought perhaps a woman would be better at communication, organization and attention to detail. I believe she was. My main concern was not being in Tucson during the project, however, I felt well informed. We did video walk throughs when appropriate. They kept to the schedule, and I trusted them to work diligently. Two other employees worth mentioning are Nick and Adam who were very helpful and responsive. Everyone thinks the results look great. I highly recommend Interior Trends Remodel & Design.

Interior Trends is outstanding. Their knowledge and attention to detail is superior. During the last 34 years in two states, we have undertaken 11 home remodeling projects, some smaller, some larger, and with one of the larger projects we worked with an architect. After all these experiences, we would rate Interior Tends superb. The addition they built for us was seamless; the existing 30 year old brick exterior and the new brick exterior match perfectly. Everyone who has seen the exterior and the interior design is highly impressed with the results. Interior Trends' creativity and planning even extended to accommodate possible future needs, which demonstrates their extensive experience with project design and implementation. The addition they created works perfectly in accomplishing our intended goals. Kathy Nieto is magic. She was great in counseling and guiding us through the project. 100% collaboration. If we added something or they suggested a modification, they would explain the ramifications and always shared the cost in advance. It is worth highlighting that they were very open about cost. During the project and after it was completed, if we had questions, they responded immediately. Nick was great; he would often stop by and answer our questions in person. After meeting with Kathy Nieto, we really hit it off. She offered ideas, adopted our ideas, and is great to work with. It was a real collaborative effort. When minor issues came up during the project, they were listened to and corrected. The team is incredibly responsive. In terms of budget, we did not want contractor grade, we wanted solid high/mid-range specifications. We made significant changes to our budget, primarily due to changes that we requested as we went, but even with adjustments along the way, we felt it was worth it. You get what you pay for! Nick and the field staff were fabulous. Their craftsmanship shows, they really pay attention to detail and have a great deal of pride in their work. The results exceeded our expectations! They listened extremely well and couldn’t be more helpful and so easy to work with. We highly recommend Interior Trends Remodel & Design and will certainly go back to them for future projects.

The most important thing I wanted in a company was to be treated right and have them treat my house like it was theirs. Interior Trends delivered. I loved their attitude and professionalism and knew they were the right ones for the job. They came up with ideas that I never even thought about and some that just made good sense. When something minor arose, they happily corrected the issue and had incredible follow-up service. They stayed in touch throughout the process and were cool people who were easy to work with. The Kathys took our ideas and made them into realty…We loved that! Working with them throughout the design process and bringing it all together was seamless. We are from this industry and have seen the good, bad, and ugly. We have built homes and been through many remodeling projects. We thought we knew what we wanted and The Kathys had great ideas and introduced new concepts that really elevated the overall design. They kept us in the loop with no secrets. Well I have finally had the time to write this review. Sorry lady's for taking so long. My wife and I had decide to purchase our retirement home on a trip to AZ. in 2014. We found the right house for us and we also found the right contractor for the job. Kathy and Kathy we the right fit for us. Kathy Lyle hit the nail on the head with great design and Kathy Nieto as the builder handled the project exceptionally well. As a person who works in the building trades I am skeptical of all contractors and had my doubts about the 6 contractors we interviewed during the process of selecting our GC for this project. We were not disappointed in hiring Interior Trends. Professional,Detail and most of all paid attention to what we requested. These 2 ladies and their staff where great to work with and went above and beyond our expectations. Kathy Lyle is a very good designer, and Kathy Nieto is a very good builder who does it the right way and not the cheapest way. If you looking for quality and great design hire this organization and their team. You will NOT be disappointed. I look forward to future projects with them.

From first contact to the end of our project, The Kathys and their crew were amazing. They had wonderful, workable ideas for our remodel, and provided excellent service. Their crews were on time, efficient, professional and cleaned up daily. They were cheerful, friendly and answered any and all of our questions. Plus, they incorporated any changes we wanted (upgrades, color, finishes etc.)without batting an eye. I would give them ten stars if I could - they have my highest recommendation.

My interior design firm recently had the pleasure of working with Kathy Lyle and Kathy Nieto (affectionately referred to as “The Two Kathys”) of Interior Trends Remodel and Design on a large-scale remodel of a residence in Tucson. We became involved after work had begun and many decisions were already underway. From the start, I was impressed not only by the Two Kathys welcoming, collaborative approach to the project but also their honest, no-nonsense work ethic. Their design plan was spot-on; their work schedule was thoughtfully well-organized; and their staff was personable and attentive. Regardless of what design “curve balls” we threw at them, they handled everything with the utmost professionalism, a typically unseen attention to detail and a healthy dose of common sense, all of which resulted in this project being completed in a timely manner and being beautifully beyond the clients’ expectations. Furthermore, the Two Kathys and their firm do not disappear once the project is complete. Follow-up is excellent, and they remain available for any questions one may have down the road, which is something rarely seen these days. As a result of the experience, hard work, patience, humor and charm they brought to this project, I can honestly say it was one of the best projects my firm has had the honor to work on in a number of years. Having now completed my work with Interior Trends Remodel and Design, I have to commend the Two Kathys and their entire staff not only on their work but also their character. Not often do I have the chance to sincerely note an exceptional job done by exceptional people, but I am happy to say I can do so regarding Interior Trends and Remodel. My husband and I have used Interior Trends & Remodel on two projects so far - a condo (bathrooms, kitchen, flooring throughout) and an entire house. The house included bathrooms, kitchen, floors, all new plumbing, electric, heating, water, carport-to-garage conversion, lighting, landscaping, wall around property, etc. It's been a pleasure working with such a great team who are passionate about their profession. We'll be sure to use this team on our next project.

Over the past 10 years we have had Interior Trends remodel several areas in our home...total kitchen remodel and 2 total bathroom remodels. Their latest project (listed below by date and cost) was for total wood flooring throughout the entire house, installation of 5 new Impervia windows, battery operated window treatments for those windows, a stained glass window, 2 new Pella doors and 2 screen doors. We have always been extremely pleased with Kathy Lyle, Kathy Nieto and everyone who works for them. One of our remodels was done while we were on vacation. We were confident that if a problem arose, in our absence, we could trust them to make the right decision. They are perfectionist, who make sure everything is done to their standards (and ours). We would highly recommend "The 2 Kathys" to anyone wanting to remodel because they are true professionals.

I hired Interior Trends to redo my kitchen. I felt I needed a designer to help with the decisions I needed to make. The Kathys did a wonderful job! I have been in my new kitchen for just slightly over a year, and it is still just a joy to be in, to work in, and to look at.

We had two projects, a townhouse update (carpet, paint,etc.) in addition to a pantry addition with improved kitchen lighting. Both projects went very smoothly and on schedule. Everyone at Interior Trends was very professional and we had no surprises. We are looking forward to using them again for our next project.

We have a 30 year old single-family one story home in the foothills that was sorely in need of updating. Our initial plan was to update the kitchen and bathrooms. But we ended up doing a total remodel, walls were removed to open up the kitchen to the living room. We had a 16 foot window wall placed in the living room that opens to the patio. The fireplace was redone. The entire house was painted. New flooring put down, electric updated and new washer/dryer, water heater, heating system and ac placed. The master bath was totally redone including a wet room for the tub and shower. The team was great in assisting us in design of kitchen, bathrooms and living room and picking out cabinets, flooring, backslash, etc. We were lucky to find such a thorough and meticulous team. We have a new home!!

You will not go wrong hiring Interior Trends Remodel & Design! We had a complete remodel done on our 3,200 sq ft home. We trusted Kathy & Kathy to complete every aspect of the project and are thrilled with the outcome. We truly appreciated the collaboration during the design process. Kathy truly tapped into our style and made it seamless to make decisions while ensuring that our home would have a good flow from room to room. We would like to share the very positive experience we had with Interior Trends. We recently purchased a large house in Tucson and decided to do major upgrades before moving in. We hired IT to help us through what seemed like a daunting process. The project began with extensive discussions of our preferences and tastes. The “Kathys” at IT and their assistants spent time with us at the house and at their office, offering suggestions for everything from colors and materials to plumbing and wall changes. They were most helpful in putting together a master plan. Individual members of the team at IT worked with us during the process, bringing in other experts--for example, a window treatment specialist--as needed. When we selected plumbing fixtures, they were with us, and their reputation for working with the plumbing distributor was evident in the service we received there. We were at the house to observe the carpenters, electricians, tile craftsmen, painters, etc., and cannot say enough good things about their integrity and the quality of their work. IT uses excellent people to execute their vision and does a great job of coordinating and overseeing the work. The task of moving in our entertainment system components, including a large HDTV, and setting the system up was especially well done. The components were placed into the beautiful cabinet space that had been built for them, assembled and checked. When any changes to the plan had to be made, we were promptly consulted. Similarly, when we wanted to change something or needed something done that was outside the plan, IT made it happen for us. When the job was done, Kathy Lyles walked us through the house, inspecting every element of the job, noting the smallest items that needed correcting. They also worked with us once we moved in to make any adjustments that were needed. We are now enjoying waking up every day to a warm and tastefully upgraded home thanks to all the staff and crew at IT. We smile each time we show people around, especially the master bath, when comments like “oh my goodness, that is beautiful” are common.

We hired Interior trends to do a complete down to the studs remodel of kitchen, family room and (one year later, an outdoor BBQ/kitchen/slate eating area. Kathy N, the engineer/construction supervisor and her wonderful team helped us understand options for wall movements, door placements and changes necessary in structural adjustments. Kathy L the designer was very patient as she walked us through options of style (Mediterranean, traditional, modern, etc.) and small design issues (faux painting, appliance matching, cabinet wood and pulls, etc). Work included moving one wall and changing one entry door into the kitchen area. cabinets were all designed from scratch with an excellent functional work area that flows well today after 4 years. The two types and color of granite are perfect compliments and add so much to the kitchen look and functionality. We found all the workmen to be conscientious, skilled and open to questions and ideas. What few little things went not according to plan i.e. termites found on removal of old cabinets or hole punctured in adjoining bathroom wall, were all dealt with quickly and efficiently by Nick, the onsite foreman. Not only were they top notch in all ways, but we brought them back a year later to do a backyard outdoor kitchen, again with the same level of expertise. Perhaps the best example of ultimate service occurred 2 years after completing the back yard BBQ/outdoor kitchen, when a piece of the slate behind the BBQ collapsed in after a heavy rain storm. Nick was on the spot within a short period of time and not only had it repaired and reinforced, but had his crew completely rebuff the entire slate area even fixing some chips we had put in it. What a surprise to come home and find them rebuffing and resealing the slate. Over all a pleasant experience remodeling (I used to think that was an oxymoron) with an excellent team, dedicated professionals at about the same price or slightly higher than other bids we had but so much more value than we anticipated.

Interior Trends Remodel & Design (ITRD)remodeled our mid-century house and we are ecstatic! Not only was the remodel fabulous, but so was the process. This was a large project, which involved, every room in our 3,000 sq.ft. house. Some areas more than others. The kitchen, activities room and new master bedroom and bathroom required the most work. From the beginning ITRD impressed us with their attention to communication, creativity, thoroughness, and follow-up. We interviewed 4 companies before starting this project. ITRD was the ONLY company who, after looking at our home, listening to our list of "wants" to provide us with a comprehensive proposal for the project, to include finishes, schematics, and itemized cost list, for us to review -- without an upfront cost to us! The renovation process was a painless as possible and together we navigated the surprises that renovation brings. The artisans/tradesmen that ITRD employs are fantastic, knowledgable, pleasant, considerate. Thank you , Kathy Lyle, Kathy Nieto, Nick, Carrie and all the wonderful employees/contractors who helped us. We have the home of our dreams!

We had a fantastic experience from start to finish with Interior Trends. They made sure that everything was done right and done well. They also handle everything from the major work to the small touch ups, which isn't something that happens with every company. The ENTIRE team at Interior Trends was WONDERFUL to work with. They did an absolutely marvelous job in remodeling two bathrooms for us. Kathy also had our beams in the living room stained a perfect color. Love everything they did for us. We trusted them completely and they did most of the work when we were out of town. Came home to two beautiful bathrooms with beautiful tile work and superior cabinet work. I highly recommend them and would rehire them when we do more work on the house. All of them were always very pleasant and easy to work with.

Interior Trends remodeled our kitchen and our bathrooms, plus a few smaller projects. Our kitchen provided a particular challenge as it is round. Their design work was superb, the on-site construction work was as clean and tidy as can be, and they cleaned up each day. The quality of their work is very high. The staff, office and on--site, are polite, cheerful, attentive and hard-working. The quality of the work is very good and they followed up on any issues until we were completely satisfied. They are relatively expensive, and the projects seem to take a long time. But we will continue to use Interior Trends for any work in our house, and highly recommend them to others.

In addition to a short list of items, we added a third bathroom as well as a sitting room to create a bedroom suite. You would never be able to tell that it was an addition! Seamless!! Neat, clean every day, professional work! A real added bonus that both structural and design components were included!! Completed on time! I highly recommend!

We have done four major projects with Interior Trends and a number of smaller ones over the last 8 to 9 years. Each time we have worked with them the jobs have turned out better than expected, on time and on budget. Given our experience with contractors prior to Int Trends, it has been a delight to work with people who take pride in their work and stand behind it, are very creative, are quality craftsmen and just nice folk with whom to work. My husband and I have no reservations in awarding Interior Trends 5 stars. We hired Interior Trends to do a whole-house remodel (kitchen, baths, flooring, windows, fireplace, etc.) that took several months to compete. While the remodeling was going on, we remained in our home the entire time. Because of the talent and efficiency of the Interior Trends team, the remodeling project was a wonderful experience. Five years later, we are still thrilled with their work.

We used this company twice. First we had two bathrooms and a bedroom remodeled. We loved their design, the implementation, and the professionalism of everybody who worked at our house. Two years later we decided to entrust them with a living room remodel and the addition of an office/music studio to our house. Small delays and some minor glitches notwithstanding, the project progressed well and we are very happy with the results. The two Kathys are a winning team, both are smart, creative, responsible, personable, and completely dedicated to quality. Despite expectation of great disruption, noise, and dirt, the construction was not stressful at all. We are grateful for their considerate scheduling and attention to our needs. Both Kathy's are responsible professionals. They come back if there is a problem even if it's been years. They are General Contractors and Designers with a good, contemporary sense of design. I respect their opinion yet they are open to suggestions and client's demands.
