We had the pleasure of working with Jack Kreitinger. Our team worked closely with Jack to come up with the custom design for the wall paneling, custom cabinetry, as well as the wine cellar door. This project showcased Jack's many different design skills and expertise. Our collaborative design work created beautiful speak-easy style pool room and lounge. From sleek and classic shaker style paneling, to dramatic 3-step crown molding, this project made a theatrical statement that is sure to impress all guests.

22 September 2014 Chicago, Illinois To Whom It May Concern: I was asked to say a few words about Jack Kreitenger and my experiences working with him on (I think we’re up to four projects) various homes and open spaces. Jack is by title an interior designer, but he has the sensibilities of an architect, a thorough grasp of the building trades, and a practical persistence in managing details and process. He’s a pro. Jack is also something of priest, psychologist, chef and bartender multi-tasking in the contours of his profession. I trust him implicitly because he’s sincere in discovering and regarding who I am, what makes me tick. That’s rare in any line of work. Jack has a definite style, a point of view influenced mainly, I think, by the ways he likes to live. Comfort isn’t his enemy, and he’s particularly good in translating expressed desires into surprising and enduring choices. (I have my feet up on a coffee table Jack brought in here twenty years ago. I love this table.) The most interesting-- most valuable-- thing about my experiences with Jack Krietenger is that I always learn something; I always come away with a broader and deeper understanding of the subject matter. His knowledge runs deep and his contacts stream in all directions. Jack has saved us from ourselves more than once. I have worked with Kreitinger Design on 4 projects now (3 homes and 1 business office) over approximately 12 years and it has been a pleasure each time. Jack Kreitinger brings not only vast experience, creativity and knowledge, but a very pleasing and easy to work with personality. I think Jack's greatest gift is his ability to understand his client and bring their dream to fruition. Many designers have a "style" that they're know for. I don't believe that Jack has a "style", rather, he understands and interprets his client's style in the most satisfying way possible.

I have worked with Jack Kreitinger over the course of 25 years in three residences, two urban and one suburban. Two were projects that began from drawings only. Jack really listens. The project is yours, not his. He is able to translate your vision into reality and take it up a personalized, unique and interesting notch or two. If you’re at a loss, as I often am, his collaborative style leads to your articulation of what you most want your environment to “say,” how you want it to “feel” and how you want it to function. He has the ability to imagine or reimagine space based on his background in architecture, design and décor and his work with diverse clients. His taste is impeccable. He is indefatigable in finding the perfect fabric, piece of furniture, lamp or accessory. He also has the integrity and courage to disagree with you in a thoughtful “shared-problem” way and find a middle-ground solution that you can live with and he finds esthetically right. Jack has an unfailing ability to work with you to curate the furnishings, art and accessories you most treasure and use them or place them in thoughtful, creative ways in new environments. He’s also very resourceful in “repurposing” pieces you thought weren’t workable in a new space. Jack’s taste and counsel are flawless. In three homes, there has never been an incident in which I’ve second-guessed a decision that he and I have made together. Jack’s my guy! Don’t miss the opportunity to work with him.

We have worked with Jack on many projects. We love how Jack is able to listen to the clients needs and then present a portfolio of ideas which will transform their space to a vision that the customer is looking for. It all seems so effortless… In fact, we hired Jack to help us with our own house after working with him on other projects. We could not be happier with the results.

Dear Houzz, I would like to submit the following review for a designer we have worked with several times in our last two homes. The designer is Jack Kreitinger of Kreitinger Design. With the purchase of our last home we brought Jack and his team in for a complete renovation of the kitchen. The original kitchen consisted of standard builders material and we wanted an updated, warm space with a sense of style to both enjoy the space and use for entertaining. After meeting with Jack and reviewing the budget of approximately $50K, Jack and his team came back with some amazing design options including movement of appliances for better work flow, incorporating a combination of seven different tiles for the back splash creating a statement and a proposal incorporating a banquette for the best use of the dinning space in the room. One item that Jack proposed that was unique was the placement of a power strip underneath the upper cabinets versus the traditional placement of outlets along the wall. With the placement of the power strip under the cabinets the beauty of the back splash was seamless accross the room. It has been several years since the renovation and we still receive high praise for the look of the room. Jack was great to work with and recommended contractors who performed the work within budget and on time.
