Our newly renovated home is beautiful thanks to John's strong design sense, great attention to detail and deep commitment to meet our needs. Throughout our time together, John listened carefully to our requests and preferences and then worked creatively to deliver within the constraints of the current footprint. While he was attentive to our ideas, we equally appreciated John's experience and candor when he offered alternative suggestions or pointed us in an even better direction. Since we live halfway across the country, John had the added challenge of connecting with us long distance, but this was never a problem. Whenever we had a question, he was only an email, text or phone call away, responding to us quickly, thoroughly and professionally. Once construction began, John was our eyes at the project site, working together with our excellent builders to ensure all aspects of the construction were optimized. We are incredibly grateful for John's tireless efforts in designing and delivering a dream house for us that we will absolutely enjoy for many years to come. My husband and I retained John to design our new home in Falmouth and are so glad we did. From the very beginning of the process, he was extremely attentive. He took the time to fully understand not only our design objectives but also how we would use the space within the house. We were extremely impressed with John’s attention to detail, follow through and ability to balance our desires with an incredible design. His understanding of the regulations and approval process was extremely helpful. With his guidance the approval process, which is often extremely painful, went very smoothly. During construction John’s oversight was invaluable. He held the project to a high standard and made sure the design vision was properly implemented. From start to finish we were impressed with every aspect of our experience with John. He was creative, thoughtful and responsive throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend John.

As a construction consultant who has managed many home construction projects I can say with certainty that John Dvorsack's construction documents were among the most complete and accurate drawings I have worked with. John's plans met the program my wife and I wished to achieve for our new home both in quality and cost. Our general contractor found the plans easy to interpret and understand which contributed significantly to construction completion occurring ahead of schedule.

It was a pleasure working with John Dvorsack. John is a talented, creative, and skilled architect who puts his clients at ease and listens attentively to their needs and wishes. He understands the Cape Cod vernacular very well and interjects it with modern elements and functionality. His first rendition of our home captured all of our wishes more than we envisioned. One of his greatest strengths is siting a home to take advantage of its surroundings. Ours was a challenge given the lot shape and conservation constraints. John managed to place our home in such a way as to capture views from almost every window and take advantage of the natural light. Throughout the process he remained attentive to our needs and in communication, always reaching the design milestones in a timely manner. We couldn't be happier with the architectural details he incorporated and the entire layout. I'm especially happy with the place of prominence he created for my piano! I give John Dvorsack the highest rating possible. Honest, talented, hard working and . Constant follow-up throughout the design and building process. I was especially impressed how he worked with the contractors throughout the building process. Insisted on improvements, corrections and do-overs when necessary to insure that his/our vision was preserved. We love our home. It is on Cape Cod and John designed the home so that it took advantage of the different light throughout the day. It is perfectly oriented to the pond, marsh and ocean views and created an aesthetic that is authentic Cape style but with contemporary features inside. He understood that with two young kids, that the laundry, mud room and children's bedrooms had to be utilitarian as well as attractive. If you look at the photos of our JD designed home you will see his talent and vision. John did insist on the finest building materials which cost more, but we are so glad we made the investment. The house is solid and you can feel the integrity of the building. Our guest comment on it too. Hiring John will be the best decision you can make. If we ever build anything again, John would be our only choice.

Working with John is simply a joy! From the moment we sat down with John to discuss the house we wanted to build, John's professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm for the task at hand were apparent. John stayed on budget - and on time. House drawings, built-in sketches, window selections, etc., were always given to us in a timely manner. This was tremendous as it helped to keep everyone on track (builder, plumbers, landscapers, etc). Even when we had changes, John turned drawings around quickly. One of the things that was most important to us during the building process was John's ability and willingness to work well with others on the project. The contractor, John, and our decorator all worked in a collaborative fashion in order to get to the best result. We found this to be refreshing as John never let his ego get in the way - if he thought someone had a good suggestion, he incorporated it into his design (though, honestly, he had usually thought things out exceptionally well!). We can't say enough about how we think his open approach led us to the great house we now have. We would highly recommend using John for any job.

We worked closely with John for almost a year. Essentially, we met with him and described to him all of the features we wanted in our new home. He listened attentively, took meticulous notes, and then when we met next, he shared a preliminary design with us that included everything we had wanted! He has an incredible eye for placing everything just right, maximizing on every single water view. From that point on, we were in touch via email--he always responded right away--and then we met about once a month in person at the site. We loved his enthusiasm, his professionalism, his sense of humor, his work ethic, his collaboration, his wisdom, and his talent. If we were to build another home, we would use him again in a heartbeat!

John is a consummate professional who strives to ensure his clients are satisfied with the finished product. He distinctively combines creativity with expert architectural design to produce unique concepts. Of note, John met every deadline set and stayed involved in our project from initial blueprints to well after our house was built. He is, quite frankly, the best architect we’ve worked with during the past 20 years.

John was one of three architects we interviewed for the renovation of our main and guest houses. Of the three, he was the only one to immediately declare "you're not going to tear this down are you?," recognizing the charm and beauty of the 1915 seaside cottage that was there. It had been our preference, too, to renovate rather than replace, and he very thoughtfully designed a renovation that beautifully mixed old and new. The tiny guest cottage he turned into a loft-style wonder, innocently referring to his early career designing hotel suites in maximizing space. The main house he incorporated almost every wish we had on our list, only gently rejecting the most architecturally incongruent ones we untrained had suggested. For the project itself he oversaw every last detail, ordering the contractor to re-do several things to his exact specifications. Not a guest has come in who hasn't commented on the tastefulness of the house. We wish we could say it was us, but really it was John. We have enthusiastically recommended him to our friends, and we are happy to count him among our friends today. A true gentleman, thoughtful, thorough, and a real delight to work with.

I hired John for a project renovating a vacation home. One of the two or three best business decisions I have ever made. At first, I believed only a few changes could be accomplished given the limitations of the house and the site. However, working with John opened my eyes to a much broader array of possibilities that I had never envisioned. He listened to our wishes and plans on how we envisioned using the place, then set about drawing up some concepts. What a world of difference! The result was amazing - functional, attractive, detailed, and complete. We were no less impressed during the construction phase when he was an exacting advocate for making the house live up to the plans. He has tremendous knowledge, enviable taste, and is very picky about whom he works with. Very flexible, conscious of budget, and will make the house what you want - all the while providing a polite opinion on how it will all come together. A delight to work with. We now get endless complements on how the house looks and on all the thoughtful details on the exterior, trim, interior, and even where the outlets and fixtures are located. I would engage John Dvorsack again with no hesitation, and I would not even look for an alternate, so high is my confidence.
