We worked with Doug Pippy from Kitchens By Hastings on the design for this kitchen complete renovation. He was wonderful to work with. Doug has a great eye and sense of style. He was able to help us turn what was a very awkward space into a beautiful well designed kitchen. Doug made the design, planning. ordering and install process so easy. He answered all our questions promptly, offered great advice and provided real world solutions to the issues with the space. We highly recommend Doug and are now working with him on another project!

John Hastings planned and supervised the remodeling of our kitchen. He was always available for timely consultations, and if needed, extra home visits to make sure the project was going to our satisfaction. In short, our complete satisfaction was John's priority from the initial planning stages until the last trim board was in place. John knows all the ins and outs of his business and his workers are professionals. My wife and I could not be more happy with our Kitchen . My wife uses the word "gorgeous" to describe our kitchen. John also provided us with beautiful cabinetry in our bathroom.. No ifs, ands or buts about it---get John Hastings to do your Kitchen!! (and your Bath!). Thanks again John! Happy Thanksgiving!!

We had a kitchen expansion project to add cabinets, a breakfast bar and accommodate a larger refrigerator. We also had two bathrooms that were gutted and redone. With the exception of some minor plumbing redirection, none of our projects required changing the footprint, so we didn't need a layout change. I started requesting estimates in January, reaching out to several contractors. Most didn't return a call; the 3 that did estimates never returned a proposal. Finally decided to try the "one-stop" kitchen and bath design places along Route 1 and had much better luck. I received two proposals, both competitive, and went with Hastings. I couldn't be more pleased. Project came in on budget (less than $100K) and on time (completed in 7 weeks). Hastings partnered with Suburban Construction to do the labor, and both were terrific to work with. Doug Pippy did a great job with the design, creating a seamless look for our existing kitchen. Our kitchen was already outifitted with decent KraftMaid cabinetry, and we had recently redone the backsplash and added granite countertops, so we were just adding to the existing design. Hastings is a KraftMaid distributor, and they did an excellent job of matching new cabinets to the existing ones. Doug also made great suggestions for the new breakfast bar to complement the granite we already had. The completed kitchen probably increased our storage capacity by a third, if not doubled it. The bathrooms were redone with new cabinetry, sinks and tubs. The most dramatic change was with the main floor bath that went from 3/4 corner shower to full tub. Storage in the bathroom was also increased, with better usage of space and ceiling height. The downstairs bath got a much-needed design upgrade and overhaul. We now have two beautiful "retreats."

It has been a pleasure to work with Kitchens by Hastings. Doug Pippy, our designer is wonderful! At the start of our planning process, Doug spent considerable time listening as we shared our thoughts, needs and wish list for our kitchen. Doug’s ability to translate all this information into 3-dimensional working drawings was really cool, not to mention helpful for our planning. Before we were done, Doug provided many renderings for us to work with. He’s a creative problem solver! At points of uncertainty, Doug would remind us of our original vision for our kitchen, walked me through the pros and cons of each decision and skillfully encouraged us to trust our instincts. He was right on and we are so grateful for his gentle steering! Our cabinets are beautiful, of utmost quality and complimentary of the style and décor of our home. Doug’s recommendations for cabinets and surfaces were both tasteful and practical. Our project included extensive construction and the recommended general contractor, fabricators and installers were all excellent. As with any project, you hit bumps in the road. John Hastings and his team are accessible, responsive, and reliable through every step of your project. If there was one area that I would advise a potential customer about it would be to spend ample time discussing and understanding the lighting plan for your new kitchen. It does not seem like a big deal but it can make or break your kitchen. Our lighting turned out great in the end but we needed to readdress it a couple times during the project. We highly recommend Kitchens by Hastings to anyone interested in kitchen renovation. They have created a gorgeous kitchen for our family and friends to enjoy. And on a personal note, John and Doug are delightful and fun to work with!

I highly recommend Kitchens by Hastings. I recently ordered kitchen cabinets from them and they could not have been more helpful! Working with Doug made the design phase easy and fun. He had many ideas for the layout of my new kitchen and was always willing to try out different suggestions. They handled my last minute request to change the cabinet color after the order had already been placed without issue. I couldn't be happier!

Really enjoyed and appreciated the process. Both Doug and John were great throughout and would highly recommend them to anyone. We found them on Houzz and read the reviews which is why we chose them. Our goal was to maximize the amount of cabinets for our space and they hit it out of the park.

I love my kitchen!!! I have done a few kitchen renovations in my life, but none have been as wonderful and functional as this one. Thank you John Hastings and Doug Pippy. Their attention to details, excellent design sense, hard work and patience are the key ingredients to their success. It starts with a home visit and a lot of listening to what it is that you are looking for, followed by their experienced suggestions. The design is done with 3D computer drawings making it very easy to visualize. The cabinets, Kraftmaid, are beautiful and have a lot of excellent storage options. My compact condo kitchen now has all the room I need. The countertop installation, quartz, was perfect (you can't even see the single seam). The suggestion of the hardware to use made by Doug made a huge difference in the overall look. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Kitchens by Hastings.

My husband and I renovated our entire condo in downtown Boston and hired Kitchens by Hastings to design our new kitchen. We began the design process with Doug Pippy and we are so pleased with our experience with him, he's such a cool cat. We met with Doug, and John Hastings, the owner, multiple times to get measurements and go over designs. We also had many phone conversations and email exchanges during the entire design and renovation process. They were always available to take questions and make phone calls to vendors on our behalf, which were done very efficiently. We ran into a problem with measurements after the cabinets had been ordered, but Doug contacted KraftMaid immediately and the issue was fixed with no delays. Doug is awesome. We did not use the contractor KBH recommended, we hired our own independently, and KBH had no problem with that. We chose Maxton cabinets in high gloss pebble gray and they are lovely! Very sleek and modern! We also chose Cambria quartz in summer hill for our countertops and island top, which we love. Doug knew we were looking for a very sleek and modern European look and he certainly delivered on design and materials. He will be visiting our condo again to see the finished product and we can't wait for him to see the kitchen he helped us make a reality! We highly recommend KBH and Doug Pippy in particular.

We love Kitchens by Hastings! My husband and I bought a 100 year old house in Medford last fall that was in need of some TLC. The first order of business was to try and transform the dark, dreary kitchen. We met with John, the owner, and he showed us an amazing 3D design of what our kitchen could potentially look like. It was so amazing to be able to say "I wish we could have this in the kitchen..." And then see it in real time with the design tools. John was extremely helpful in designing the new layout of our kitchen for optimal function and appealing design. We literally have the kitchen of our dreams now and couldn't be happier! I highly recommend Kitchen by Hastings - you will be in good hands!!

Working with Kitchen’s By Hastings was a great experience. Our first interaction was with Doug Pippy who is part of the sales and design team at the company. He was very easy to work with and really did a great job in guiding us in the right direction with our design. He was there for us every step of the process to answer questions, etc. that came up during the project. I was a little nervous and hesitant at first about doing the project because we needed a total remodel (down to the studs) and had a very tight budget, but Kitchen’s by Hastings and Doug did an excellent job working within our budget to provide us with best possible products and design. The cabinets themselves are Kraftmaid, which Doug helped us choose and we couldn’t be happier with the quality and look. The project took a little over 4 weeks from start to finish which was shorter than the 5 week projected timeline. The construction team that was onsite were extremely professional and did an outstanding job keeping us updated during every phase of the project. I would highly recommend Kitchen’s by Hastings to anyone looking to remodel their kitchen!

We had a total kitchen remodel and partial dining room remodel. I'm not much of a writer but they were FANTASTIC!! The contractor they hired to do the work was Excellent!!The workers were clean and respectful. Antonio,the foreman was great answering all questions and concerns . We had other estimates and were given a time frame anywhere from 4-6 months. John the owner and Doug Pippy came, gave us a 4-6 week time frame for the job and true to their word they were in and out as promised. Start date March 12th and total finish date April 28th, Doug came to the house helped me with Ideas. I knew what I wanted but he really helped me pull it all together. Their products are excellent quality.I am a very visual person so when the put my kitchen on a computer image to let me see how it could look I was sold.Never once had an issue reaching them ,if I had questions or concerns and when we ran into a few issues ( all projects have some sort of minor issues) they were right there to correct them. On a scale of 1-10 we give Hastings Kitchens a 10++++

I was very pleased with my experience working with Kitchens by Hastings. In addition to the kitchen renovation, they built a deck which required additional renovations to another room as well. My design consultant, Doug Pippy, was very helpful, making numerous creative suggestions that made the end result even better. He followed up with me throughout the process to answer questions and keep me informed on progress. The on-site crew was also great, paying attention to every detail and answering my many questions. I would definitely recommend Kitchens by Hastings.
