Kate and Maggie have been helping us transform our cookie-cutter home into one with character for a few years now and we couldn't be happier with their work. They are always very respectful of our limited budget and always present multiple options to keep us involved in the design process and ensure our home reflects our needs. They were also very helpful when our contractor disappeared toward the end of one project. I would highly recommend them!

We have worked with Kate Marker for five years on all aspects of our home's renovation and interior design. Kate has been wonderful to work with throughout the years and we continue to work together today. My husband and I often have differing opinions about design and Kate manages to find common ground ideas for the house that make us both happy. Kate has been involved in big projects for us (completely redesigning our living room and family room) and small projects (simply helping me find a new bed for my toddler or a window treatment for a single window.) She offers the same great service and design vision in all projects. From the beginning, Kate has understood our style and vision for our home. Our house is gorgeous and functional in large part through our work with Kate.

I was new to all things home renovation when I first met Kate. Frankly she had been recommended to me by so many trusted friends and neighbors, I decided I finally had to contact her, although I was hardly convinced I needed a designer's help. I had some pretty strong visions of what my new home should look like, and I wasn't sure how it would go working with someone else on something that meant so much to me. Looking back, I can honestly say I can't and wouldn't want to imagine my home without Kate. Her touch is everywhere and there isn't a corner of my house that isn't made better because of her influence and expertise. I had no idea how many daily decisions need to be made in a project like mine (a gut reno of 100+ yr home) - and her impeccable capturing of my vision allowed me complete trust in her. One of the best things she offered was choice. Whenever a decision needed to be made - she would offer at least 3 options - all within my desired style and at varying price points within budget. This approach kept the project moving when my work schedule (and indecisiveness) would have slowed us down tremendously. Maybe even more helpful were the little things you just don't anticipate when new to home renos...lighting plans, electrical outlet placements, appliance clearance, people traffic flow considerations...she handled it all with professionalism and genuine personal care...going above and beyond my already high expectations. I just read through the other reviewers and I'm not surprised to see a chorus of happy clients just like me. For the sole unhappy reviewer - in my experience an anomaly opinion like that is usually more of a reflection on the source than the subject. I so enjoyed the whole experience, I'm tempted to pick another house and do it all over again! Repeat clients like me should be the ultimate testament to Kate and her KMI team -- I wholeheartedly recommend Kate Marker interiors.

Her design style is so amazing and fresh. She is creative and innovative. Her response time on selections, options, and recommendations is so fast. Kate Maker and her team have provided excellent service to us. We love the beautiful spaces she has helped us recreate. Recently moved to a senior community. The new home was 3100 square feet so I needed Kate Marker to evaluate the furniture in my old home and decide what I could use. In addition, we purchased new furniture. I wanted to finish my home quickly and because it was winter in Chicago, I did not want to travel around looking at furniture. Kate was amazing. She is professional and creative. Her ability to show me fabrics and photos of furniture helped the process move quickly. I was involved in the choices but had confidence in all of Kate's decisions. The result is a beautiful, warm and stylish home. My husband and children love it all as well. I always get compliments from guests who marvel at the way the old furniture and new furniture blend together and work so well. When there was a problem, Kate was on top of it and made it right. I would highly recommend Kate. I totally enjoyed the experience. She is a joy!

They are both so incredibly talented and knowledgable, and also super professional and respectful of budget. I just read the review of Kate Markers Interiors by sherigreenbaum. Having just completed a major project with Kate and her team, alI I can say is that we enjoyed a much different experience. I found Kate to be most professional. As for her design abilities, she exceeded our expectations. I can't thank Kate and her team enough for transforming our home into a place that truly captures our style. You know you have a great designer when they talk you into making existing pieces of furniture work. Instead of taking the easy path and selling us a new dining set, Kate assured us we could achieve the look we wanted while keeping our existing pieces. I was skeptical and willing to spend the money on new - but Kate was right. In the end, our dining room is the room we get the most compliments on. I couldn't give Kate a stronger endorsement. She has something like a 6 month waiting list for new clients. That should give you an idea of the quality of her work. The only advice I can give you is she is worth the wait.

I HIGHLY recommend Kate Marker interiors. They helped me completely redecorate my prior home and then I hired them to help me do my entire new construction from top to bottom. I could not have done this project without them. They have been there every step of the way from small decisions to major decisions. Inside details and outside details. Decorating to architectural decisions. Extremely professional. They helped me create my dream home.

DO NOT use Kate marker interiors. In addition to the fact that she quit on us via email 3 weeks before closing on our new house (which she had been helping us decorate and for which we had just placed a huge order with her) she also: - tells you she is passing along her discounts but is not, she marks up everything. Many decorators mark stuff up but tell you it is a straight percentage (ie 20%) on everything. Kate instead tells you she is passing her discounts along but then marks things up behind your back at miscellaneous percentages. - she does not listen to your needs, wants, requirements or preferences - she has ZERO regard for budget and does not help you with or stay within your overall budget. She literally quit on us while we were smack in the middle of decorating certain rooms of our new home. Left us high and dry during an already most stressful time. Would rather work with someone more expensive that can be trusted and is a pleasure to work with.
