Julia is amazing! I was hesitant to use a kitchen designer as I didn’t feel my 1967 house was upscale enough to deserve a designer, but I was wrong. I had polled my friends & family for months on ideas to revitalize my small kitchen and finally decided to get professional help. I ruled out using a design done by a big box store since I wanted a different layout, and the helpful reviews on Houzz led me to Julia at Kitchens For Cooking. She came up with a design that completely blew my mind as it was not something that I ever considered. And this alone completely justified why people turn to professional designers! I then confessed to Julia that I had already purchased some pre-owned cabinets prior to hiring her for the design. I did not mention this at the start because I wanted to see what she would come up with without any limitations. She did not judge me for my lack of following the normal order of renovation (as my family had). Julia was up for the challenge of working these existing cabinet sizes into a configuration that could work in my space. She listened to my input and tweaked the design until perfect. She did an awesome job of maximizing the use of the cabinets. Julia is very knowledgeable about small space design and provided helpful recommendations for what features to look for when selecting sinks and appliances. I was very impressed by her patience and enthusiastic attitude when I threw her the curveball about using recycled cabinets. The communication was great and I found the price to be very reasonable. I recently moved and another kitchen renovation is needed, so my first call for help was to Julia because I was so pleased with her work. I will be using recycled cabinets again but this time working in coordination with Julia's design rather than after the cabinets have been purchased. I highly recommend Julia for any kind of kitchen design you may need. We all know the kitchen is the heart of the home and one of the biggest home renovations to tackle. I would highly recommend Julia. She came up with a great plan for the kitchen layout that not only more functional, it also gives us that open concept feel that we were looking for all while still giving us the storage space that we need. We are so excited about the new kitchen.
