About Us

Quality is everything: Legno Bastone was founded in the late 1800’s by the same family that runs the company to this very day. Over the years, we have optimized and expanded our production process, but we have never abandoned the age-old European traditions of craftsmanship when it comes to our floors. Every single floor is hand-crafted and custom designed; regardless of whether it is a well-appointed home, a castle or a modern minimalist urban apartment, irrespective of whether the address is in Europe or coast to coast in the USA. The wood behind Legno Bastone Wideplank Flooring: Legno Bastone gets raw wood from the best forests in Europe, which have been nurtured for generations for the benefit of society and the environment. The trees we select are generally over 150 years old and have been meticulously cared for throughout their existence. We make precise uncompromising demands regarding grains, knots and structure. We accept only the best logs which we use with the greatest respect possible. Any other approach would be an injustice-both to the trees and to all the forest workers who have taken care of them for centuries. We take it personally: When we are contacted about a project we focus strictly on the wants and needs of the client. Species, custom designed finish and appropriate width are carefully analyzed. Once the project is ready and specified we start by selecting the perfect planks so they can be processed in just the right manner. For five generations, the activities for each project have been the same in processing and finishing. This is one of the secrets behind the long life of Legno Bastone Wide Plank Flooring. Once the floor has been completed and installed, you will be able to enjoy Legno Bastone’s lovely wood, conscientious workmanship-and more. Quickly you will join others that refer to our floors as “Custom Designed Furniture for Your Floor.” The fact that our interest does not end here, we will gladly continue to advise you on the use and maintenance for your Legno Bastone Floor in the years ahead. We used Legno Bastone for our entire house and could not be more impressed with the quality of their floors and professionalism. Not only did this company deliver a gorgeous product, but any issues we came across were dealt with flawlessly and from the top. This company is the very definition of professionalism - they don't quit until their client is satisfied. In today's world, that type of attention to detail and unsurpassed craftsmanship is a rarity and when you do find it, it is a thing of beauty. Additionally, and importantly, they were well priced. A product beyond reproach and we are not an easy audience. If I could choose 10 stars, I would. I wouldn't go anywhere else for floors and nor should you. Bravo!!

Highly highly recommend them! Legno Bastone was able to provide what no one else has. I wanted a super high-quality wide plank floor with a modern, fresh, coastal design, and feel. Yet they seem to maintain a timeless appeal. I am sure to be more than pleased for many years to come. They are certainly the masters at what they do.

Whatever line of Legno Bastone you choose, you better hold your breath until your order arrives and hope sample and their website pics are truly representative of actual product because our Franchino line was not even close then we had to battle with manufacturer to take it back!! No apologies or customer service whatsoever, leaving 1/2 our house in shambles and ripped down to the subfloor for several more weeks until another flooring brand is put in!!

We are sorry to hear about the overall experience you have had, Legno Bastone strives to provide the highest level of customer service. The finish “Franchino” is a smoked floor and the tannins in each tree react differently to the smoking process. We expect that this is explained upon selection by our authorized dealers. When/if a client request samples, we do our best to provide a range so you are aware of the color variations. When a smoked floor is purchased we provided/inform the dealer that there will be color variations and recommend installers to blend planks from multiple packs to ensure the balance of color and graining so the floor will have a cohesive look. Please note that another production run was offered in place of the provided flooring and pictures were supplied to your dealer for you to choose. We are aware that you were not pleased with the range of either option, so we accepted a return from the dealer for full credit to their account. We wish you the best on your home.

We purchased two batches from Legone Bastone. Unfortunately, both orders of nosing were delayed by two weeks because they had issues fabricating. After the delay they weren't even able to give me a ship date. This caused major issues with our renovation and we had to reschedule a number of other vendors. It was super disappointing when I called to find a resolution and they basically told me it was a custom product so they weren't responsible for delays. They also blamed my reseller, who isn't responsible at all! For a premium priced product they have subpar customer service. Quality is okay, but we have a number of boards with white streaks through them, which looks very odd. Honestly I would never purchase this brand again and expected way better customer service for the price point.

I am sorry to hear about the overall experience you have had. I personally looked into your orders and there is only one order for nosings placed on 03/02/2018 by your retailer. Our normal fabrication time is up to 3 weeks plus shipping because all of our nosings are custom made for each order. We always do our best to get them done as quickly as possible but in some cases they take the full 3 weeks.

That is not an excuse for the poor customer service experience you had. Legno Bastone strives to deliver the highest level of customer service and that is not what you received. I am currently looking into that as well.
