My husband and I were recently in the process of selling our home. We were in a time crunch to complete a few projects around our house. Mel Kelley Design/Build delivered and it was beyond our expectations! They were a real life saver at a time when we needed it the most. We appreciate the quality and the timeliness of service. When we first started interviewing prospective contractors we took 6 different quotes/designs. Ultimately we went with Mel Kelley Design Build because Mel took exactly what we said we wanted and made a beautiful design that was also functional. Another factor that influenced us was his cabinetry product line along with his warranty. We felt we were getting the best products for the price. We were not disappointed. Mel's team completed the project in the time frame he proposed as well as the projected budget range. He was very up front with the challenges that came up (as there always is in construction) and did his best to minimize extra costs to us. Jeremy and Pat came to our house promptly at the same time every day and cleaned up everything as they left, which was important to us since we had a toddler running around. They were completely professional and respectful in our home. Mel was a great communicator, was always available and helpful with any questions or concerns that came up. We are really happy we went with his company, and truly enjoy our new kitchen.

This is the 2nd project Mel and his company have done for us. JD was great about helping us plan our project. He was professional and had some great tips to help save money. Matt was an awesome worker. Professional and his work was done to our high standards. He also liked to spend time each day taking time to greet our dogs. Matt is like a family member . We completely renovated our kitchen. The job began with shoring up our floor which was not properly constructed 30 years ago. In addition to new flooring, cabinets, countertops and appliances, we also completely renewed the electrical service. We are very pleased with the results. J.D. Kline ran the job and did much of the work. The sub-contractors (countertops and tile) were very skilled. Coordination with them was very smooth. Our job was finished on-budget and on time, resulting in a beautiful new kitchen!

Mel Kelley Design/Build has an excellent and professional staff. We are in the process of completing a full home renovation and are very pleased with all of our results. Once my husband and I decided what we wanted to remodel, we interviewed 3 companies. We chose Mel Kelley for several reason's: Project Manager on site Price competitive Professionalism Personal touch/Family type feeling Mel personally included us in every decision related to our project. We spent whole days together visiting the companies that provided the products needed for the remodel. Mel never rushed us when making decisions and he was always available to answer any questions. Our project consisted of a complete remake of the kitchen, master bathroom and the main bathroom. We also refurbished the laundry area, dining room, living room, foyer and painted and re-floored 2 bedrooms. A new front door including outside lights and a new front doorstep and sidewalk were installed. Mel's team was on site at our home for approximately 6 months. They were always courteous and they treated our home as their own. At the end of every work day the team cleaned up the area and left the house as they found it. The team is talented, experienced and professional. They didn't cut corners, always went the extra step to get a feature exactly right, were meticulous and actively asked our opinion as solutions were being considered. It is reassuring to have professionals that are more particular than the owner. And it goes without saying, we are thrilled with the final outcome; Our home looks like we wanted it to look. Mel is a 'can do' person. The one thing that really impressed me about Mel is, no matter what our request Mell never said "no we cannot do it". He would always find a way to accommodate our preferences. Completely focused, skilled, discriminating, reliable, trustworthy and competitively priced. We experienced a tremendous amount of damage to our townhome with the flood that hit our area in October 2011. We had 16 feet of water, (basement and first floor). Mel was recommended to us and responded to our call the next day. Damage was extensive as you can imagine. Everything had to be redone from the insulation in the basement ceiling, to all electrical and hvac, to replacing the firewalls on both sides of our townhome, to replacing windows, doors, walls as well as the entire kitchen needed replaced. Once the insurance paperwork was "settled" they started--Mel was fantastic in the planning stages, took us out 1 day to shop for all we would need-flooring choices, kitchen cabinets and counters, plumbing and fixtures. We never would have been able to do what was done and have the outcome we have without his help. Once the insurace checks started coming the work really got started and Mel and his team worked diligently and we were back in our "new" home in February 2012. We highly recommend Mel and his team. He is knowledgeable, his team members respectful and hardworking, organized and he kept us in the know with everything that was happening. We definately would recommend him to anyone looking for great work done!
