Miyuki Yamaguchi is the perfect design professional. Her talents include interior design and architectural design. Miyuki guided us through a complete update of our home. She was attentive, helpful, and provided new and exciting ideas for our space. She listened to us to understand our vision and helped us create it. She designed custom cabinetry for our master bath and our laundry room--we love them! She also updated our existing kitchen cabinetry -- paint and molding details. Our home feels so open and inviting; we couldn't have done this without Miyuki.

My husband and I have worked with Miyuki on several projects, beginning with our full kitchen remodel, and she is wonderful! Miyuki is smart and funny, and has many great ideas. We look forward to working with her soon on our bathrooms.

We chose Miyuki Yamaguchi to help us refresh our second home near Palm Springs, a project we had been putting off for several years. I had viewed many interior design projects in the desert, but nothing felt like the right fit until I saw Miyuki’s work. I instantly liked her sense of style and clean lines, understated elegance with pops of surprises in color and design. I knew I wanted elements of Palm Springs style – a little Mid-Century modern, a little Hollywood glam, with everything suitable for active grandchildren. What a joy it was working with Miyuki. She gave us several design schemes to mix and match, always very conscious of our budget and making sure we knew how our decisions would affect the project costs and timeline going forward. She promptly answered all our questions via calls and emails. Her organizational and project management skills made the entire process of choices and decisions very easy. She has an architect’s eye and a keen attention to detail and delivered high-quality construction plans, enabling our contractor to complete the refresh efficiently and within budget. We are beyond thrilled with the results! Our home has been reborn as a bright, airy, contemporary space that works perfectly for us and our extended family – and will for many years to come.

We hired Miyuki Yamaguchi Design to redesign a late 1980’s home in Sonoma (3BR/3.5Bath) and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Miyuki brought in an architect and structural engineer to help advise on the project as well as to prepare permit ready construction documents. They all worked well together under Miyuki’s direction. Specifically, we worked with Miyuki to update the look and function of our kitchen, laundry room, main bedroom and bathroom as well as replacing all the windows and doors. She was open to our aesthetics and had wonderful suggestions given our budget. When presented with options for things like tiles and counter tops she was respectful of our budget and showed us beautiful options. We appreciated that we weren’t falling in love with a sample option that was beyond our budget and we never felt like we were sacrificing the look we wanted. We appreciated the detailed design process that was clearly laid out at the start of our project. During our first meeting, Miyuki took the time to understand our vision, offered creative solutions, and worked her design and choices within our stated budget. Miyuki provides beautiful hand drawings/renderings that clearly layout the design elements with the details that a contractor needs. Our contractor appreciated all the thought and detail that went into the design documents. Miyuki is easy to work with and extremely responsive to emails and phone calls and her deliverables were always on time. She was particularly helpful in reworking our main bathroom as we had a very awkward bathroom layout. She was able to rework the space to completely transform it, giving us two vanities, two linen closets, a very large shower and a water closet in a much more spacious and cleaner layout. The project is now beginning construction and she continues to provide valuable input. We can’t wait to see the end result of her vision.

We worked with Miyuki on the complete renovation of our second home in Napa Valley, a two-story, three-bedroom detached house. The project included replacing the floor covering in the entire house, changing the texture of the walls, renovating the two bathrooms and the kitchen, with new cabinets, new fixtures etc... Also we had to furnish the house. Miyuki conducted the project with us from A to Z: design and layout, furniture placement, style, overall color scheme and ambiance, furniture pre-selection and selection, wooden floor and window treatment selection, fixtures etc. She also found a general contractor, not an easy task in Napa in 2021-2022. We were really pleased with the final outcome. Miyuki understood exactly what we wanted and it was very impressive to see the house becoming what she had designed. She has excellent taste and great attention to detail. Her ideas are clear and precise but at the same time she knows how to adapt to her clients’ preferences. It was a very interactive and collaborative process. With regards to budget, she knows how to adapt to constrains, helping us to make tradeoffs. As a person, she is easy to work with. We will definitely work with her on other projects.

Working with Miyuki on our Napa Valley "forever" home remodeling project was an absolute pleasure. Miyuki was wonderful to work with! Her design aesthetic is fantastic, and she did such an outstanding job of transforming our very vague wants into our dream home. We did a whole house remodel and her attention to detail was phenomenal - our builder was blown away at the level of detail and precision of her plans. And with all the moving parts it was so nice that she worked seamlessly with the builder and architect. We loved how she sketched the various rooms and provided storyboards of the various materials so we could see her incredible vision. Miyuki was a pleasure to work with for our Napa Valley wine country second home project! She was very professional, kind and easy to work with. Miyuki provided a stellar level of design services. My project was quite large and complicated -- an entire whole house remodel and design. We have lived in our home for over 35 years and have had several different designers help us on various room design. Miyuki was exceptional in every way! Miyuki helped me select a practical kid-friendly, yet stylish fabric to reupholster my old contemporary sectional and gave me great advice on the arrangement of furniture and artwork in my odd shaped living room. I get lots of compliments on that sectional! I went to her house to look at the fabric swatches and when I walked into her beautiful, Hampton-esque/beachy/sexy yet calming, comfortable house, I knew I had found the right designer.
