Penn Contractors renovated our pool building this spring - replaced all the windows and doors, constructed a half wall throughout the building, installed interior and exterior siding. Everything turned out terrific. They do excellent work. Their carpenters are the best around - experienced, professional and highly skilled. We are super excited that we have a beautifully renovated space in which to enjoy our pool!

We are now finishing up on a second project by this company. The first was a complete remodel of our bathroom last year. It is fantastic, the workmanship is superb, and the project stayed on budget and completed timely. We are now finishing up replacement of all windows and again I am pleased with the outcome. This company has listened to my ideas and needs, and helped to make my dream a reality. All of the staff has been courteous, informative, on time and hard working. I have no problem recommending them to do a project for you.

Penn contractors handled a complex home addition for us with a kitchen, bathroom, master bedroom closet, laundry room, mudroom, and garage. The project came in on time and on budget, despite uncooperative weather and "surprises" inside the walls. The quality of the workmanship is impeccable and everyone who worked on my project was trustworthy and personable. I have another project in mind and they are the ones I will to call.

This was the second project that we have done with Penn Contractors. This project was a bathroom remodel in our master bath. We wanted to replace our existing tiny shower and somehow work around the existing garden tub. Bruce came out to our house to meet us and determine what options we had for the space. He helped us to make the most cost effective upgrade to stay in our budget, which was much appreciated. The people who worked on our project were professional and cleaned up every night. The bathroom came out great and we will absolutely call Penn again for our next project.

From the first meeting until the final "photo shoot" of the completed projects Bruce and everyone at Penn Contractors met every expectation. All major aspects of a project of this size, cost, quality and speed, were met and above our expectation. Even with slight modifications to the scope of our work to meet our budget it still maintained our vision. All of this was possible because of Bruce's attention to details and vast experience that he completely understood our style. This guaranteed an incredible project outcome that was a perfect combination of design and function. In the end, it created our personal oasis right out our back door.

We have had the excellent fortune to work alongside Penn Contractors through several phases of work to a prominent period farmhouse in Northampton County. The extensive landscape project that we did involved the collaboration and collective efforts of our team as well as the individual talented craftsman and sub-contractors involved with the amenities to the home itself. I had known Bruce Snyder for 20 years, sharing our passion of skiing @ Bear Creek. We had talked of our career endeavors over the years and had learned of his expertise in construction and design. Having made the decision to build a new custom home, discussing in interviews with a number of builders.............none made the impression to me as Bruce/Penn Contractors did! I had ideas of a design and along with the help of a architect friend, with my thoughts and plans, Bruce Snyder was my perfect collaboration for great additional ideas, details and design (a stunning staircase) to help create the house of my dreams become reality. Having a great crew @ Penn Contractors, also helped my wife and I down the difficult and sometimes harrowing path of building a custom home. In my home now 3 years, I am more than pleased with the craftsmanship and outcome of my dream!

Penn Contractor has completed two additions to our home as well as renovation of our kitchen and bathrooms. Their work has always been of the utmost quality. The team at Penn possesses great knowledge and expertise regarding all phases of the renovation process, from design to product selection to actual completion of the work. They maintain excellent relationships with quality area subcontractors as well as county inspectors, both of which are instrumental in keeping the project on schedule. Every worker that came into our home was courteous and professional and at the end of each work day they always cleaned up the work area. Home renovations can be stressful. Working with Penn has made the process much easier; the staff is always available to answer questions or deal with the inevitable issues that arise. We encountered some problems with matching our siding and Penn worked very hard to find a solution that worked for us. Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance to Penn. They never ended a job until we were 100% satisfied with the result.

The project: Remove the entire front wall of our garage (20-foot?), install a beam across the full width, rebuild the front wall, rearrange the electrical for light and power (previously on the front wall), and replace an 8-foot overhead door with a new 16-foot overhead door. 1. The bid - Penn Contractors provided us with a clear, complete and competitive estimate. We chose Penn Contractors from among three bids because: they discussed on-site with us what we wanted done; they walked the job with us, discussing the process and materials; they discussed with us a work and payment schedule convenient for us; shortly thereafter, they sent us a detailed estimate for the materials and labor. I had one or two minor questions about the estimate. I called into their office, and got clear, complete and satisfactory answers. 2. The work - Delivery of the beam from out-of-state was the pacing item for the work. Penn Contractors called us several times to discuss the schedule, to ensure delivery and start of work would be convenient to us. Following beam installation and completion of framing, power and light electrical work was completed. Overhead door installation was done separately by the overhead door vendor. 3. A detail - a light switch for (existing) spotlights had been moved (necessary; it had been on the front wall) and reinstalled, due to existing wire length, a bit too high to reach conveniently. That was discussed with us, and, due to extra materials and labor, an additional charge of $100 was added to the total cost. That was the only "adjustment" to the cost. Note: I have *no* problem with paying for what I get, but that detail could probably have been anticipated. 4. Workmanship - the quality of the finished work is excellent. The (lead) carpenter who did the work obviously took pride in the product. Everything is square, plumb, tight and nicely finished. The existing side door of the garage opened in and would have interfered with the new overhead door rails. As the carpenter suggested, the door was rehung to open out (as it should've originally been done anyway), with hinges and lock re-mortised, all better than original. 5. Cleanup - all old materials were removed and the garage and driveway left clean. That's to be expected, of course, but it's really nice to simply pull the cars back in the driveway and get our garage back (literally) minutes after the job is done. We were impressed by all the Penn Contractor personnel we came in contact with. The project leader visited the site several times, checking with the workman (and listening to them!) and with us (and listening to us), to ensure the job was progressing as it should, and to ensure we were going to get what we wanted. The lead carpenter, several times, discussed installation details with me as the work went on. Penn Contractors' work was hassle-free. We got what we wanted at the cost we anticipated. Because of my experience, not only would I confidently recommend them, I'm currently in contact with them again regarding a series of long-term home improvements, to get their ideas and advice.
