Penny Lane Home Builders is a Design Firm located in Southwestern Montana. We specialize in design of energy efficient, green and sustainable homes for discriminating families who understand the intrinsic value of green building and great design. We bring our 18 years of building experience and building science knowledge to our design and consulting services. We believe that a Green home must be: Energy Efficient and Healthy for your family. We believe in Structural Insulated Panels, closed cell foam insulation and heat recovery ventilators to help us accomplish those goals.

Penny built our very modern custom designed (Chicago architect) home located in Montana. A challenging project: SIPS paneling, very clean finishes (can't cover the mistakes with trim) and challenges with scheduling - all the subs are over committed - but we are really happy with the end result. Penny knows her stuff, she's honest, she cares about the result and she puts the time in to get the job done.

In 2014, after interviewing nearly 10 builders we decided to go with Penny. Our project was challenging on multiple fronts, to start off with we had to satisfy two HOA-DRB's and one of them was extremely difficult to satisfy. Secondly, there were budgetary and design challenges that together we tackled. Our Mantra was "cool on a budget." Not only did we conquer the review process but also the budget and design issues. We broke ground in June of 14 and moved in to our home in April of 2015. We could not be more satisfied with the finished product. Certainly, like many projects, you have hiccups and ours was no exception but Penny kept her focus, positive attitude and creative ideas which ultimately enabled us to build something that other builders could not have. We truly have an original that we credit Penny for building. From the sketches on paper to the finished product - I don't think either of us envisioned a more satisfying completion. Thanks much! Penny Lane Home Builders is nothing short of extraordinary. The owner, Ms. Murray, is very professional and has a team of dedicated craftsman ready to tackle just about any project. We recently hired her firm to do a basement/bedroom remodel. There were lots of challenges, but the skilled laborers who work for her were steady, experienced, and dedicated to the project at hand. We never had to call Penny to ask "when is your carpenter going to show up?" Her team of professionals were always on time, kept a clean worksite, and didn't waste time going to and from the hardware store for materials. It always seemed like they put in a full days work. The project was completed on time and on budget. We couldn't be happier. We plan to use her firm again to do a remodel of the mud room off of our kitchen.

I am a subcontractor that installed a radiant heating and solar system on a home in which Penny was the General Contractor on an energy efficient, tight ,well-built house. She has a very solid technical understanding of the building process, and is the kind of person that works toward solutions. As a subcontractor it helps that she is very responsive via text, email, and phone calls - which makes it easy to coordinate schedules and plan phases of work. I would highly recommend hiring her.

We provided a custom beetle kill pine floor for Penny Lane Home Builders, the final outcome was truly amazing. The quality, craftsmanship, creativity, and customer care was outstanding. Penny Murray built us small bathroom in our house to begin with. She was helpful, stayed on budget and listened to our wishes so when it came to building a complete new house, she was one of the local builders we approached. Not only was she able to translate our vision into designs, savings us the costs of an expensive architect, but with her network of sub-contractors, engineers and vendors, she built our dream-home for us too and we couldn't be happier with the end-result. She can take you from concept to finished build, all while staying on budget. We're truly impressed! I hope she'll post a portfolio of the finished project as our 'rustic but modern barn' is truly inspirational.
