I hired Travis to build my custom island for my kitchen remodel. I am very pleased with the results. There was an issue with a few of the components and he sent someone out almost immediately to address my concerns and make sure the project was done correctly.

Distinctive Designs built and installed all of our cabinets (large kitchen & 4 baths) back in 2011. Travis at DDI is remarkable at knowing what will and will not work in a design. They also built a very large built-in for our living room that was quite ornate, yet very functional. The cabinets and built-in look as good today (2016) as they did when originally installed. One visit with Travis and DDI and you will be hooked.

As a custom homebuilder specializing in building custom homes on scattered home sites throughout Central North Carolina on land that is primarily owned by the homebuyer, we have used Distinctive Designs as our primary cabinet supplier on roughly 60 projects since 2005, including custom single-family homes and remodeling projects. DDI work very hard to give us the kitchen within our budget. They met with us multiple times to make sure we were all on the same page. After the design consultations the GC kept us apprised of any issues and solutions they may of had. Overall we highly recommend DDI for a kitchen design and construction.

Hired DDI to renovate existing guest bathroom and create master suite with new master bath and updated closets within existing house interior. Travis was great to work with and had many helpful suggestions. Very responsive and good, honest communication. SUPER SUBS - great craftsmen (John is AWESOME) who take pride in their work and are very professional. Very flexible to work around our choices of using other vendors where we wanted (i.e. California Closets) and respectful for where we wanted to spurge or not. No pressure to upgrade or buy add'l fixtures/finishes. We purchased many of the items from Home Depot/Home Decorators to use HD card for interest free purchases with extended time to pay. Used cash on hand to pay DDI. Estimate was within $1500 of our expectations. Minimal overages based on things that needed work once the job started, but all quality workmanship and we are VERY HAPPY. Would recommend DDI to anyone wanting a top quality job with superb customer service/professionalism at a very fair price for top craftsmanship and job dedication. Nice to have DDI here in town with a great showroom to help visualize ideas. Wish we could post more than 4 photos.

Distinctive Designs earns my highest regard. From day one they worked with me to achieve the kitchen and baths that were perfect for my family. Downsizing a home isn't an easy job, but the amenities found in my kitchen cabinets left me with extra room. Every detail was attended to with precision and care. The quality of the cabinetry and granite in each room is incredible. Travis worked with my budget needs and pulled off a beautiful, functional and distinctively unique kitchen and bath.

Travis and his team did a very extensive remodeling job on our 35 year old home which had never been updated. Although we hired an architect to draw up the plans, Travis came up with some very original additions to the drawings which greatly enhanced the project; he has a very good design sense. His project manager was on site every day and was very courteous about keeping us updated on the progress and making sure everything was cleaned up on a daily basis as we were living in the house throughout the renovation. The cabinets turn out amazing! Our once "ugly" house is now a showpiece. We still have one bathroom that needs renovating and we will definitely be using Distinctive Designs Inc. again.

I am in awe every morning I wake up and walk into my kitchen thanks to Travis @ Distinctive Designs Inc.. Prior to choosing Distinctive Designs, I met with other companies in Greensboro and just could not agree on major details without either being told no or cost changing drastically and changing my design. So I went online and saw Distinctive Designs and emailed them. I told them specifically what I wanted and Travis called me to set up a meet. As soon as I met with him, I knew he would be my choice. He listened to my wants, my ideas, and most importantly that this was ultimately my design. He gave me exactly what I wanted and stayed within my budget. The install came in within a few weeks, and was fast and exceptional. The overall process was smooth, easy, and fast with Distinctive Designs Inc.. In spring 2015, my 93 year old Mom fell in the tub while taking a shower. Climbing over the tub wall became very arduous for Mom. At this time we were able to convince Mom that the bathrooms required updating to make them more accessible to her. We interview three firms to get ideas and costs for re-doing Mom’s bathroom to make it more ADA compliant, to include a low threshold, walk-in shower, new sink, grab bars and an elevated toilet. While Mom’s bath was our area of concentration, we also decided to renovate the guest/hall bathroom. We selected Distinctive Designs Inc. (DDI) and worked with Travis Parrish, the owner, for several reasons: 1.His proposal was competitive with the other firms, 2.Travis was able to provide designs that would work for small bathrooms (We wanted designs that would be ADA compliant, but not look like a nursing facility), 3.DDI has a showroom where tile and other selections can be made, 4.Travis tapped into his resources to obtain the toilets and bathroom accessories (cabinets, grab bars, sinks, etc.) Travis provided photos of his proposed selections and the purchase price, for our approval, similar to one-stop shopping, and 5.The start and completion dates were timely. Since I live in the DC area, it was very beneficial to me, my brother and Mom that Travis designed the new bathrooms, ordered the selections and conducted the whole renovation without much oversight. The site supervisor worked with Mom to ensure that she had easy access to the shower and that the grab bars were in the right locations in the shower and toilet area. Mom now loves her shower and appreciates the easy access and safety features of the shower and bathroom. Likewise, we all recognize that renovating the bathrooms in a 60-year old home will be beneficial in the future sale of the home. The family enjoyed working with Travis and the DDI team and we highly recommend DDI for home renovations.

Travis and his team are amazing. They pay attention to detail and strive to make the customer happy and give them exactly what they want, all while providing the best service and knowledge that will allow them to do a fantastic job.

I found Distinctive Designs on Houzz and after meeting with a few other companies we chose them for our living room and bonus room projects- floor to ceiling built ins. We are very, very pleased with their work. Melanie was so great to work with on the design side and Travis and Iaasac were extremely helpful during the install. They made sure that everything was done to our satisfaction and they handled any unexpected issues the way you'd hope your contractor would. They were so easy to work with and they weren't satisfied unless you were satisfied. You can tell they really take pride in their work. Great company.
