Hello, My elderly mother's house suffered from severe fire damage (no fault of her own). We needed a contractor who could help us rebuild with the hope of returning my mother to the sanctuary of her home to live out her life peacefully. Highly recommend Rich - he’s exceptionally talented at design, construction and follow-up! Rich is a hands-on owner-builder with an eye for design details and works with sub-contractors that meet his high expectations. We bought a new construction spec home built by Rich Nuti near downtown Willow Glen. The location was great - just a couple blocks from downtown. He demo’d the existing home originally built in the early 1900s and created a new modern home that still fit the quaint Willow Glen neighborhood. We found the home while it was under construction and stopped by a few times randomly. Rich was on-site and not only supervising, but working alongside making sure things were done to his high standards. Photos are showcased on this site. And to top it off - he is a great person - honest, nice, high integrity, results, problem solver, quality, detailed, …! We also hired Rich to complete a few projects for us after we moved in - including a mailbox which drops mail safely inside the home and an EV car charger in the garage. Not only did he complete these projects on time and on budget … he even offered to let our dogs out for us! Rich built our custom home in Los Altos from the ground up in the most challenging COVID conditions. He is honest, fair, and a true craftsman- he takes tremendous pride in his work. He was onsite each day to ensure everything was done with the highest level of quality and attention to detail. He does not cut corners, and its shows in the beautiful home he has built for us. We started construction right as COVID started, and despite all the hurdles we faced, with supply change shortages, city planning shut down and delays, he rose to all the challenges. He went above and beyond to ensure that he built us the home of our dreams. I approached Rich Nuti from Bella Casa to create design plans for my whole home remodel in the Willow Glen area. Planning started in earnest in late 2020/early 2021. The scope of the work spanned the entire ~1580sqft house: a new custom kitchen; adding a laundry room; converting the floorplan from 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom to 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms incorporating curbless showers; changing the location of the front door; changing windows; replacing all interior doors; all new electrical wiring and outlets; hung, recessed, and sconce lights; new plumbing. The entire inside of the home was replaced except the stud walls and most windows. The plans included some structural work. Rich very quickly grasped the scope of the work, as well as my tastes and aesthetics. He demonstrated exceptional knowledge of codes, design constraints and considerations, and preserving the look of the house, particularly given that this was an older cottage style home constructed in the 1930s. He created plans, helped guide me through the design process and floorplan, was proactive in giving ideas, and importantly pointed out on several occasions where I might be making poor choices. For example, he gave guidance on window sizes, floor types, lighting, and aesthetics. He showed a strong understanding of the function and usability of each space down to locations of switches, doors, and outlets. He supported several revisions of the plans, and notably the electrical drawings and added bedroom. Rich demonstrated good attention to detail, for example, accounting for the fact that some walls were different sizes owing to the home's age, and factoring this in to the plans and door jamb dimensions. Rich also helped review construction choices and suppliers, for example, liaising with door and window vendors, and creating the custom arched window designs. In my view, Rich's work is of exceptional quality. He is extremely thorough, trustworthy, honest, and has integrity. He is knowledgeable, is very experienced, and his aesthetics for high quality jobs shows. I feel anyone who works with him is in good hands. He is also a remarkably easy and pleasant person to work with, communicates clearly, is very organised, and I never felt rushed or pressured in to decisions by him. I worked with Rich from Bella Casa Builders to design our new custom home and pool house in Los Altos. I fully recommend him for your project as well. It's difficult to find contractors in the Bay Area who are creative, responsive, honest, and follow through even with small tweaks after the initial job is done. But Rich and Bella Casa is certainly that. For example, Rich was responsible for the design and architecture of our home, and worked very closely with the city of Los Altos through several iterations to ensure that our project was approved quickly and with the highest standards. Even after the design and architecture was done and the construction began, Rich continued to follow up with iterations and revisions to ensure that the house evolved as we envisioned it. Finally, Rich produced a beautiful architecture, design, and visualizations of our home that made us feel comfortable moving forward with construction of such a massive project. His ideas, flexibility, and responsiveness to our feedback made it an incredible experience to work with him.

Rich Nuti of Bella Casa Builders designed and built our home in San Jose. Our experience with Rich was great. This project was a complete tear-down and rebuild with challenges and limitations. Our lot is only 3,500 s.f., yet, Rich was able to design and build a beautiful, open concept, 2 story 1,600 s.f. Spanish-style house for us. We are always receiving compliments on our home and how well it fits into the neighborhood. Rich is extremely creative, professional, and always available when you need him. He is very knowledgeable with how the city works and we breezed through the permit process. Also, I like the fact that he’s a perfectionist. When working on a construction projects, there will be unexpected issues. Rich was able to provide creative solutions while remaining amazingly calm through the entire process. Also, he is very good at keeping you on track with your budget. There were no financial surprises with this project. Invoicing was always clear and straight-forward. Rich was able to integrate many of our wish list items into the design plan. However, he isn’t afraid to tell you if something won’t work or won’t look right and backs it up with good reasoning and alternative solutions. We are amazed with the design and layout Rich created for our home. We would highly recommend him and will always be a reference for him.

We hired Rich Nutti with Bella Casa Builders for an extended kitchen and dining room remodel in our 1935 traditional home. We wanted to create a transitional feel, introducing a more modern design, while incorporating some of the homes traditional features. After a career of 20 plus years in Bay Area real estate, we have seen a lot of homes, some new builds and many remodels. The reason we interviewed and chose Rich was based on his excellent design concepts, quality of workmanship and communication skills. Rich has built beautiful homes from the ground up, specializing in design, detail and floor plans. In order to design a home properly, it is important to understand the construction aspects needed to accomplish your final goal. Rich has an immense construction background that helps facilitate the correct development of his designs. Having an older home was a challenge in itself. Rich never flinched. Rich listened to what we wanted to accomplish and went to the drawing board. We removed three walls resulting in an open concept space. Steel beams were brought in for additional support for our upstairs. Rich had every detail fine-tuned, down to the final finishing details. The quality of workmanship is phenomenal. Rich has very creative design ideas in his plans. We have a four-foot walkway all around our 4’ x 8’ island. This makes a much easier flow when cooking with another person. In addition, Rich’s communication skills were amazing. If he saw something that he didn’t like, he would suggest an alternative. He would even come by the house, once all his guys left, and start sweeping or vacuuming the site space. We only had one issue after the project was completed, with no fault of Rich. We had a defective farm sink that cracked. Rich was there, accessed the situation and replaced the sink at no cost to us. Now that is amazing customer service.
