TJR General Contracting

We used TJR for a significant remodel and addition to our house. We are very happy with the end result. We particularly appreciated Tony’s attention to detail, pursuit of quality throughout the project and his honest take on key decisions. He runs a high quality, high integrity shop.

TJR Construction was hired to perform a major remodel of the interior of our existing home including exterior painting and roofing. We found Tony, contractor/owner of TJR, to be reasonable and pleasant to work with. Tony is very reliable and used his experience to maintain the schedule throughout the project, even during early phases of the pandemic when supply issues arose. Despite the challenges Tony was able to stay within the established budget. Tony is a good listener and when issues came up he promptly addressed them and provided reasonable alternate solutions. The high standards Tony sets for himself and his subcontractors is visible in the quality of the finished work. Overall, working with Tony was a very positive experience and we would strongly recommend TJR.

TJR General Contracting has done several renovations for us. The estimates to do the work were thorough and complete. We do not live in Arizona so we were unable to visit the renovations. TJR communicated often with phone calls, photos and emails. If unexpected issues occurred, we were notified in a timely manner and a resolution was provided. The completed projects exceeded our expectations. We would recommend TJR Renovations and General Contracting LLC for a project small or large.

We have done huge remodel/renovation projects with top notch builders (in another state), so our level of expectation on this project was very high. As an engineer, my husband is diligent about the quality of workmanship, attention to detail and doing the job 'right.' Tony hit the mark on our project! Almost every wall and system was touched during our project- it was a total renovation. He is experienced and knowledgeable, very professional, kept on schedule AND budget, communicated with us regularly and responded quickly, and he keeps a very clean work site. We visited the site daily to check the work done and progress made. We looked for anything that needed to be 'fixed' - and in every instance we found that Tony had already seen it and had already taken steps to remedy. We felt he treated our project as though it was his own home- with that level of care and detail. We would definitely work with Tony on our next project, and recommend him to anyone who wants their project done well and done right.

We were very fortunate to have Tony as our general contractor. We interviewed several before going with TJR and, in retrospect, we clearly made the right choice. Throughout the project, he exhibited unwavering and genuine care and concern about all aspects of the work, both large and small. He also was an excellent communicator, was in tune with our expectations, and kept us aware and up-to-date as the project progressed. He kept us on track in terms of the budget and worked with us on detailed aspects of the renovation so we had the best finished product. If you want a contractor you can trust and is excellent to work with at a reasonable cost, then choose TJR.

Tony was right on with his estimate (we had (3) estimates) .He was very open & honest when asked to itemize anything we questioned. He adapted very well & helped us adjust or change anything thru out the project.I was against changing out all the baseboard; my wife sided with Tony and we installed all new 4" baseboard.( It looks great ! )THE STONE AND TILE WORK THRU OUT THE MASTERBATH,KITCHEN,& FAMILY ROOM IS PERFECT!! TJR is fantastic! We were introduced by our real estate agent and feel extremely fortunate that happened. We needed an exterior project complete and master bathroom remodel. From the first meeting, it was so clear that Tony was the right person. His approach is thorough, and you can tell he is passionate about getting the right results, and he does what he says (honesty!!!). He listens to what you are looking for and provides ideas that follow along with his own expert opinions. (Example, recommending different structural supports for a portion of the exterior project based on need vs budget - any with a guarantee it'll look good.) He is very clear about estimates, and is conscientious of the client when something additional is uncovered. We had pre-existing water damage that was more extensive than we all originally thought. He knew the best way to remedy, what it would mean for timelines, showed us the issue immediately and had his team on it. The teams he assembled for our projects were great. Courteous professionals that got a lot done in a very reasonable amount of time and with expert attention to detail. End-to-end the project was about 5 weeks. (Factor in a day or two for weekends and thanksgiving). Expect a wait, (because TJR is in demand) but once you're on the books, TJR is on it. We are very happy with our bedroom/bathroom remodel and exterior project. Thank you!

Tony was an excellent contractor that kept us well informed on our remodel in North Scottsdale. This was not easy as we live in a Chicago suburb and North Scottsdale is 2 time zones and 2500 miles away. His communication throughout the project was impressive, with questions that came up in his promptness in texting or calling back with updates. TJR used great contractors for flooring, painting,electrical, plumbing and cabinets and counter tops. All quality workmanship.

Tony is a first class contractor. I hired him to re-do the master bath in my rental condo after a pipe leaked in the wall and flooded the entire area. As with most projects this one started wit just the bathroom and then turned in to additional tile flooring in the laundry room! He was patient, always available for questions, didn't nickel and dime me and made sure that his workers were there on time, did a quality job and then personally followed up on every step of our project. I have a large master bath and bedroom project at my home that I am in the planning stages on and I will definitely use Tony to execute!

Tony did an excellent job managing this project, which was a complete tear-out and replacement our 15 year old kitchen. I had a very exact idea of how I wanted this to end up, including 3D renderings and diagrams from over 4 months of planning, and he helped me get as close as humanly possible. Not only that, he suggested several improvements that I hadn't thought of that made the whole project better. He knows what he is doing and was very responsive - I am very satisfied with how it turned out and would definitely use him again.
