Versatile Renovations

I recently hired Versatile to renovate my ensuite. While most of the workmanship was satisfactory, I experienced several issues with the planning and quoting process. During the estimate, I was told the shower would be 36” square, but the completed stall actually takes up 40”, which now protrudes into my small bathroom and leaves no room for a towel bar at the end of my cabinet. This significantly affected the functionality of the space. I also found the quote misleading, as it did not clearly outline which major materials were excluded. When I asked the office to review the estimate with me so I could budget properly, it was not mentioned that I would need to pay the glass company directly for the shower glass. The quote stated “install Wedi shower system with base and walls,” which I reasonably understood to include the glass enclosure, but this ended up being an additional $3,000 expense. Finally, the crew discarded the packaging for a towel bar that ultimately couldn’t be used, which means I’m unable to return it to the wholesaler and am out another $70. I emailed to see if they could assist with this, but did not receive a response. Aside from the size of the shower, the renovation itself was acceptable and the crew members worked hard to complete the renovation in a two week time frame, but clearer communication and more transparent quoting would have made for a much better experience.
