I had a phenomenal experience working with Dinnissen Design. Not only was the craftsmanship and product itself exceptional but so was the entire design service and installation. Nathalie heard everything I had to say and went above and beyond to help my dreams become a reality. We had a few hiccups, for example the tile arrived and didn’t look the same as the sample. Nathalie handled every issue without hesitation and with ease. She spent hours on the phone and emailing to get me a refund and then find me something similar. She was punctual, consistent, and detail oriented. She communicated and coordinated with my contractor! It was a low stress, five star experience. It’s now been over a year and the quality of the product speaks for itself. It is still in perfect condition. No issues or concerns with this high quality product. Thank you Dinnissen Design co. I've worked with Nathalie and Julie on three separate projects and they've all turned out perfectly!! They are both so lovely to work with and collaborating with them is fun and easy. I had basic ideas in mind for all the projects we worked on, and they took my ideas and turned them into much more refined versions of what I was originally thinking. They are so open to using colour and texture and bold patterns and I'm so thrilled with the way my kitchens and bathrooms turned out! I think I need to stop renovating for a while, but I would definitely work with them again for any other projects that come up!

Finding Dinnissen Design Co. on Houzz was a total game-changer for me. I'd been musing about a kitchen reno in my 100-year-old character home for upwards of a decade but my husband and I were hesitant to dive in and open ourselves up to what we feared would be a boatload of troubles. As far as we knew, our 1923 kitchen had last been renovated 50 years earlier and posed numerous constraints including inadequate electrical, four layers of tile flooring, zero straight lines, low ceilings, and ancient lathe and plaster walls. When I came across Dinnissen's website, I was immediately impressed by what I saw and by the glowing reviews so I decided to fill out an online inquiry form. It was one of the best decisions of my life. Julie responded promptly and showed up at my house full of enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. In short order, she had created a beautiful design, which she and her contractor executed to a T. From the initial design stage to ongoing consultations to completion, the renovation was a total dream and the results exceeded my expectations. Julie has impeccable taste and her background in interior and architectural design resulted in a stunning kitchen that is both functional and in sync with the style of our home. Her choices for cabinets, tile, hardware, etc. were tasteful and design-forward. She and the contractor (including the electrical, tile, and plumbing sub-trades) were reliable, talented, and meticulous. They completed the entire renovation from demolition to move-in-ready in six weeks—on time and budget. I can't recommend this company highly enough.

We had an amazing experience with Nathalie at Dinnissen Design Co. We used them for both our walk in and mud room closets. Cannot say enough good things. The process was fun and stress free. Nathalie brings a wealth of knowledge and design input to all her work and it shows. She came, looked at the spaces and came up with designs that met both our needs and style. I am very particular when it comes to fine details, DDC and their amazing installer delivered. It was one of the most stress free experiences of our entire reno and we have received a lot of compliments on our closets. People have been blown away at the quality of both the product and the install. Would highly recommend if looking for top notch custom cabinetry and decor. My only regret is not knowing about them soon enough as we would have had them do our kitchen as well.

Working with Julie was a great experience from start to finish! She produced numerous renderings and was patient while we settled on a design and look. In the end, we chose one of her first designs for my kitchen! Julie utilizes a quality cabinet supplier who has many options. She provided sound design advice throughout the entire process of renovating the kitchen and two bathrooms of my condo. She combined aesthetics with function and we utilized the space well. She was on sight during all the key stages of the renovation. I was quite hands on and we worked well together choosing the material and making final decisions on the finishing. She was available at all times and checked in regularly with the contractors. I was pleased with the quality of their work. The vendors/resources that Julie uses have excellent product selection and the cost was usually very competitive. If something wasn't quite right with the reno, she'd ensure that it was rectified quickly. She provided a budget but at times, I chose hardware and finishing that increased the costs. In the end, the renovation was completed within the budget that I set for my renovation. I love the look and function of my renovated space; the two bathrooms are slightly different but there is harmony with the kitchen and rest of the space. Julie is personable, creative and listens to her clients. I highly recommend working with Dinnissen Design Co. Ltd.

Nathalie did an amazing job with helping us create two functional good looking kitchens in our new house! We decided to do a major renovation to our kitchen and main floor of our home. I had two consultations that left us feeling less than comfortable. I didn’t feel like the designers could help me achieve my vision for our new kitchen. I wanted something unique. Our floor plan is tricky and has two different elevations that baffled the other two designers. We wanted to integrate the design to make the two spaces feel connected. A good friend recommended Nathalie of Dinnissen Design Company. I called Nathalie and we met within a couple of days. Within a week we had some workable designs and shortly thereafter we committed to the process of getting the cabinets, countertops, tile and flooring ordered. When Nathalie came on board the old kitchen was completely gutted. She organized tile, flooring selection, cabinetry and delivery. We decided to do the flooring ourselves since we are pretty handy. We entrusted Nathalie with the organizing of the cabinetry and installation as well as the countertops. She has all the right connections! She had so many great ideas and asked me to trust her and I’m so glad we did! Her attention to detail brought my dream kitchen to fruition. We collaborated a lot via email and text. She was very attentive and communication was easy. She figured out what I wanted very quickly. It was so nice just to have Nathalie take care of all the complicated stuff with the cabinets and scheduling installers etc. Her team is amazing! Her finishing carpenter is the best! Absolutely meticulous. The counter top guys also did an amazing job for us. We would have never been able to put this kitchen together without Nathalie’s expertise. She came by several times during the installation process to ensure that her people understood our end goal. Nathalie really cares for her clients and you can tell she loves what she does. For many years we considered renovating our very dated kitchen but we were overwhelmed with the prospect. Immediately upon meeting Julie we were incredibly impressed with how she listened to how we used the space and incorporated the information into a beautiful and thoughtful design. Our project was quite large and Julie was there every step of the way, coordinating with our contractor throughout. She was in very regular communication with us and we knew she was only a text or email away (with immediate responses) whenever we had a question. We had high expectations and they were more than met. We couldn’t be happier with our new space and the top-notch service we received!

We used Dinnissen Design to help with our house build. Originally I had contacted Nathalie to help me with the design around my fireplace area but we got to talking about some of the other rooms in the house and we ended up using DDC for all of our rooms with millwork (three bathrooms, fireplace area, laundry, and two kitchens). I have to say it was one of the best, if not the single best decision we made for our house build. Nathalie was there every step of the way helping with design, ordering samples, bouncing design and color ideas off of, creating renderings (I'm a visual person so seeing what it was going to look like was a huge help), contacting trades and installers, providing suppliers for us to reach out to for plumbing, lighting, etc. Our house is the house of my dreams. It turned out better than I could have ever imagined. She was super helpful throughout the whole process and worked with my general contractor to make things come together. This took a lot of stress off my husband and I. If we were ever to do a reno or another house build there is no doubt in my mind that we would use DDC.

The cabinets are good quality. Some had some minor knicks from shipping and it was not a problem getting a replacement Natalie was great to work with. She listened to what I wanted and implemented it well. Pleasure to work with!

I have only the best things to say about my kitchen and bath renovation In Kitsilano. Julie took the ideas I came to her with and made my home exactly what I had imagined. Scott did the contracting after design was planned according to my budget and requests and did a wonderful job. They were thoughtful, timely and respectful of my home. They even looked after my dogs a few times while there working. They stuck to their estimate and had no unexpected add on costs other than a few upgrades I decided on while the work was underway. Julie was quick to integrate those changes and expedite getting them completed. I am beyond happy with the project from start to finish and would highly recommend them both.

I contacted Dinnissen Design Co for advice on light fixture replacements. I had been struggling for about 3 years on how to choose the right lighting for my kitchen. The existing fixtures were awful, but I couldn’t figure out how to work with the space. On the same day I contacted DDC I got several samples sent to me, and some much needed advice on where to purchase the lighting that would fit the space. I will definitely be contacting them again! And plan to hire them to design my dream kitchen & bathrooms in my forever home. Five stars isn’t enough; they deserve 10 stars minimum!!

The transformation of my “cheater” bathroom, an inefficient 1980s design with one shared bath tub/shower with one sink in each section, to two full bathrooms is something I’ve wanted since buying this house 20 years ago. Julie Dinnissen has designed two beautiful and highly functional bathrooms. Julie designed my kitchen a couple of years ago and when it was time to design the bathrooms, I reached out to her for her expertise. I still love every aspect of my kitchen and knew it would be the same with the bathrooms. The final product: one bathroom has an extra large custom shower stall and the ensuite, two sinks with tons of cabinet/drawer storage and a deep soaker tub with a back warmer. Julie worked within my budget and provided more economical options that still look amazing and as one friend commented, my bathrooms look like a spa. Julie considers the little things - like putting the taps on the adjacent wall. You can turn on the shower without having to dodge the shower water and when in the tub, you don’t have to move to add more water. Genius. And the shower glass, most have a green hue but the supplier that Julie sourced has glass that is clear. The oval mirrors with a black frame that she chose add so much more to the aesthetics than the standard slab of glass. When she saw them at the store, she knew they belonged in my bathrooms. It’s those little touches that some might not think of, Julie does. Julie coordinated the renovation with the contractor, Howell’s Carpentry, and they worked in tandem to make sure the delivery/installation schedules aligned. I highly recommend Dinnissen Design! Julie is responsive, creative, and can create gorgeous results within budget. Thanks, Julie!
