I had the pleasure of working with Ana on the interior design of our new home, which we built from the ground up in upstate New York. Our house is designed in a minimalist, Japanese-inspired aesthetic. Needless to say, it was a formidable and often overwhelming project—but Ana’s impeccable taste, deep expertise, professionalism, and incredibly warm, kind, and supportive personality made a tremendous difference every step of the way. Ana was my partner and guide throughout the entire process—from visiting countless showrooms and selecting finishes (tiles, floors, shades, appliances, kitchen details) to choosing lighting fixtures and furniture, managing orders and complex logistics (including pieces arriving all the way from Japan), and finally, placing everything in our home with her flawless eye for balance and proportion. Ana's advice helped me avoid many costly mistakes. I honestly don’t think I could have kept my sanity intact without Ana’s calm, thoughtful, and tactful support. She is exceptionally professional, reliable, and responsive—qualities that are rare and invaluable on a project of this scope. I cannot recommend Ana highly enough. She is a true star—both as a designer and as a human being.

Ana did a wonderful job decorating our home in Upstate New York. From our first phone conversation, I could sense that she immediately grasped our aesthetic (farmhouse meets Scandinavian) and chose beautiful pieces for our home. She worked well within our budget, providing options in a range of prices, which I appreciated. She never pushed us to spend or buy more than we were comfortable with. What could potentially have been a difficult and challenging design project, was made easy and fun by Ana Leche-Chapuis of Wood & Milk Studio. From the first time we spoke on the phone, when she then sent me a link to her website where I was able to get an idea of her esthetic, I knew I wanted to work with her. I have no experience in the area of interior design and I needed a lot of guidance which Ana expertly provided. I had a deadline and Ana saw to it that it was met. She has a list of go-to trades-people that did fantastic work and everything came in on time and on budget. Every job has their glitches but Ana's years of experience and expertise help a novice like me negotiate the choppy waters. From our initial conversation on the phone to the first walk-through, proposal, then mood boards and tear sheets she created, I had fun. Ana had a clear vision and a way of guiding me while respecting my preferences. I am not a shopper but Ana helped me navigate antique warehouses and online purchases and provided the "hand holding" I requested. I can't recommend her enough and I am going to use her again for some tricky design fixes in my NYC apartment.
