Really Big Windows
Say what you will about the Twilight movies, those vampires really know how to pick a great house. Specifically, a house that employs windows to their fullest advantage.
Since we're currently being hit over the head with all things Twilight, I've had windows on the brain. Really, really big windows. I've got them in my house, and I love them, even when it's boiling in my kitchen (which is an unfortunate, though only occasional, side effect of great windows and a sunny backyard).
It's not so hard to find pictures of great, big windows, either. Here are a few of my favorites:

The Cullen House in Twilight (known as the Hoke House in real life) is a gorgeous example of the marriage of windows and wood in modern architecture.
I love the way these windows emphasize the roofline of the house, and how they extend the open floor plan all the way to the outside.
I like big windows in traditional spaces, too - they're a great feature of old houses.
This is one of my very favorite Houzz photos - I love the combination of books, fire, and the outdoors.
Bay windows are always fantastic.
And I especially love bay windows with window seats.
These gorgeous windows emphasize the amazing verticality of this house.
This simple little office might be depressing...if it weren't for those fantastic windows.
