The original wood paneling and coffered ceiling in the living room was gorgeous, but the hero of the room was the brass and glass light fixture that the previous owner installed. We created a seating area around it with comfy chairs perfectly placed for conversation. Being eco-minded in our approach, we love to re-use items whenever possible. The nesting tables and pale blue storage cabinet are from our client’s previous home, which we also had the privilege to decorate. We supplemented these existing pieces with a new rug, pillow and throw blanket to infuse the space with personality and link the colors of the room together.

## A very formal and detailed library The entire custom woodwork is built out of the highest quality of cherry wood. Deep red-brown staining adds richness and formality to the design. The detailed coffered ceiling, an artistic and luxurious piece of millwork, consists of many layers of moldings and milled solid wood. Custom embossing of the moldings adds formality and richness to the design. This beautiful woodwork is also featured in the custom-made corbels, arched cabinets, and fluted columns.

This library has a WoodGrid Coffered Deep Coffer ceiling in glazed knotty pine. The grid is 2 inch wide with detail. This design lays out 25 inches on center. Customer supplied photos

The homeowners of this wanted to create an informal year-round residence for their active family that reflected their love of the outdoors and time spent in ski and camping lodges. The result is a luxurious, yet understated, comfortable kitchen/dining area that exudes a feeling of warmth and relaxation. The open floor plan offers views throughout the first floor, while large picture windows integrate the outdoors and fill the space with light. A door to the three-season room offers easy access to an outdoor kitchen and living area. The dark wood floors, cabinets with natural wood grain, leathered stone counters, and coffered ceilings offer the ambiance of a 19th century mountain lodge, yet this is combined with painted wainscoting and woodwork to brighten and modernize the space. A blue center island in the kitchen adds a fun splash of color, while a gas fireplace and lit upper cabinets adds a cozy feeling. A separate butler’s pantry contains additional refrigeration, storage, and a wine cooler. Challenges included integrating the perimeter cabinetry into the crown moldings and coffered ceilings, so the lines of millwork are aligned through multiple living spaces. In particular, there is a structural steel column on the corner of the raised island around which oak millwork was wrapped to match the living room columns. Another challenge was concealing second floor plumbing in the beams of the coffered ceiling.

Eat-in kitchen - eclectic l-shaped eat-in kitchen idea in Tampa with a farmhouse sink, white backsplash, subway tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances and white cabinets

Shingle-style guest cottage addition with garage below and interior connector from the main dining room of an early 1900 existing house. Sited so that garage entrance and drive works within the existing landscape elevation and orientation, the guest cottage connects directly to the first floor of the main house. This results in an interesting structural dynamic where the walls of the second floor addition are square to the main house, and the lower garage walls corkscrew at a forty-five degree angle to the walls above. Inspired by their fond memories of travels to the island of Malta, the client requested warm neutral finishes and chose honed cream marble flooring with tight fitting grout lines and an intricate pattern of a Walker Zanger marble tile for the fireplace surround. "Dove White" walls with "Antique White" trim were selected in traditional simplicity to replicate the standard of the existing house and create a seamless transition to the addition. Locally handcrafted copper sconces gently illuminate the space and maintain the period-style of the home.

This Valencia project great room showcases an expansive open-concept layout connecting the living area, kitchen, and dining space with a cohesive architectural flow. The detailed coffered ceilings, arched openings, layered chandeliers, and warm wood-look flooring create depth throughout the space, while the large sectional and rich accent pillows bring comfort and color into the room. With Spanish-inspired interior architecture, custom ceiling details, and seamless transitions between entertaining areas, this great room captures the estate-style feel of the home.

The interior has incredible detail with coffered ceilings and wood paneling on the walls in the entry. The wide plank oak flooring stands out against the crisp white walls and elegant lighting. The floor to ceiling windows and doors provide plenty of light for the open floor plan. The wide arched doorways add to the architectural detail throughout the living areas. The kitchen has double islands and plenty of space to create a culinary masterpiece. The quartz counter tops and white custom cabinets stand out under the stained wood plank ceiling. Glass cabinet doors and a custom vent hood add that extra touch to this gorgeous space. Built by Phillip Vlahos of Destin Custom Home Builders. This space was originally a living room in a center hall colonial and was transformed into a billiard room so that the space would be functional and beautiful. The family room is next to it for TV viewing and conversation. The wood coffered ceilings add warmth and elegance to the room.

The family room opens up from the kitchen and then again onto the back, screened in porch for an open floor plan that makes a cottage home seem wide open. The gray walls with transom windows and white trim are soothing; the brick fireplace with white surround is a stunning focal point. The hardwood floors set off the room. And then we have the ceiling - wow, what a ceiling - washed butt board and coffered. What a great gathering place for family and friends.
