Reclaimed wood box beams and timber posts create a bold architectural framework in this bright transitional lower level, their deep dark brown tones and strongly grained faces standing in striking contrast against white walls and light flooring to naturally define the game room space from the living and bar areas beyond. Rather than walls or partitions, these antique timbers do the work of shaping the space while keeping the entire floor plan open and connected. Sourced from 19th and early 20th century structures and prepared through our process of denailing, kiln drying, and precision milling, every Manomin box beam brings genuine antique character to any application, structural or decorative.
Whether you are a homebuilder, a home remodeling contractor, or a homeowner looking to use reclaimed wood box beams and timber posts to define spaces in an open concept lower level, Manomin Resawn Timbers has been helping people discover the antique charm of reclaimed wood since 2002. This vaulted living room is part of a modern minimalist home in White Oaks Savannah outside Stillwater, where hand hewn box beams cross the ceiling to bring warmth and texture to a space built around simplicity, light, and indoor-outdoor connection. A white sectional sofa, swivel chairs, and a round wood coffee table sit beneath brass and black chandeliers, while walls of black steel doors open the living room to a pool and patio beyond, blurring the line between inside and out.
Our hand hewn box beams are made in the Hand Hewn style, recovered from timbers that were shaped by hand with axes and adzes across the American Midwest. That process left behind the marks and dents of the inexact hand tools once used to build the farms and barns of the region, giving each beam a truly one of a kind rustic character. Even in a home built on clean lines and understated luxury, these beams bring depth, history, and warmth to soaring ceilings like this one.

The Antique Skim Oak ceiling paneling is milled from a mix of red and white oak, salvaged from century old structures across the United States, skip planed to leave the distressed marks of its original milling intact. The Weathered Antique box beams are built from a mix of softwoods, from hemlock to pine, sourced from joists, roof boards, decking, and walls of late 19th and early 20th century structures, carrying a natural patina earned over a century of weathering. The Antique White Oak mantel is milled from timberstock salvaged from 19th century industrial buildings, showcasing the grain patterns and durability of old growth oak against the stacked stone fireplace.

Siesta Key Low Country great room and kitchen featuring custom cabinetry, exposed wood beams, vaulted ceilings, and patio area.
This is a very well detailed custom home on a smaller scale, measuring only 3,000 sf under a/c. Every element of the home was designed by some of Sarasota's top architects, landscape architects and interior designers. One of the highlighted features are the true cypress timber beams that span the great room. These are not faux box beams but true timbers. Another awesome design feature is the outdoor living room boasting 20' pitched ceilings and a 37' tall chimney made of true boulders stacked over the course of 1 month.
