Bathroom - modern bathroom idea in Richmond

This is an older house in Rice University that needed an updated master bathroom. The original shower was only 36" x 36". Spa Bath Renovation Spring 2014, Design and build. We moved the tub, shower and toilet to different locations to make the bathroom look more organized. We used pure white caeserstone counter tops, hansgrohe metris faucet, glass mosaic tile (Daltile - City Lights), stand silver 12 x 24 porcelain floor cut into 4 x 24 strips to make the chevron pattern on the floor, shower glass panel, shower niche, rain shower head, wet bath floating tub. Custom cabinets in a grey stain with mirror doors and circle overlays. The tower in center features charging station for toothbrushes, iPADs, and cell phones. Spacious Spa Bath. TV in bathroom, large chandelier in bathroom. Half circle cabinet doors with mirrors. Anther chandelier in a master bathroom. Designing additions for Victorian homes is a challenging task. The architects and builders who designed and built these homes were masters in their craft. No detail of design or proportion went unattended. Cummings Architects is often approached to work on these types of projects because of their unwavering dedication to ensure structural and aesthetic continuity both inside and out. Upon meeting the owner of this stately home in Winchester, Massachusetts, Mathew immediately began sketching a beautifully detail drawing of a design for a family room with an upstairs master suite. Though the initial ideas were just rough concepts, the client could already see that Mathew’s vision for the house would blend the new space seamlessly into the fabric of the turn of the century home. In the finished design, expanses of glass stretch along the lines of the living room, letting in an expansive amount of light and creating a sense of openness. The exterior walls and interior trims were designed to create an environment that merged the indoors and outdoors into a single comfortable space. Residential home in Santa Cruz, CA This stunning front and backyard project was so much fun! The plethora of K&D's scope of work included: smooth finished concrete walls, multiple styles of horizontal redwood fencing, smooth finished concrete stepping stones, bands, steps & pathways, paver patio & driveway, artificial turf, TimberTech stairs & decks, TimberTech custom bench with storage, shower wall with bike washing station, custom concrete fountain, poured-in-place fire pit, pour-in-place half circle bench with sloped back rest, metal pergola, low voltage lighting, planting and irrigation! (*Adorable cat not included)

The homeowners desired an outdoor space that felt more rustic than their refined interior spaces, but still related architecturally to their house. Cement plaster support arbor columns provide enough of visual tie to the existing house exterior. Oversized wood beams and rafter members provide a unique outdoor atmosphere. in this open floor plan, a half level above the main great room is a true tv room complete with a half moon window from which to see the ocean beyond. walls are painted a lime green and the sectional upholstered in a sky blue. floor is covered in seagrass and furniture is remiscent of the mid century age. rosewood and white lacquer media console bookended by the iconic floor lamp. swivel chair is upholstered in lime green velvet while the cube ottomans are done in a true ageatic blue velvet.

The living room takes up about half of the open space on the main floor of this home. A large sectional gives this space the separation it needs to keep from blending into the kitchen. Emily Minton Redfield

Our team, along with architect Brandt Designs, took on the challenge of transforming an overgrown and underused backyard into an outdoor retreat perfect for relaxing, entertaining, or having a swim. The space has three tiers – the top tier hosts an outdoor dining area, bbq, and fireplace with ample seating. There is also a custom bunny hutch for their pet rabbit to enjoy. The middle tier has a lap pool with automated cover and space to lounge in the sun. The lower tier has a cabana with a kitchenette and bathroom, an outdoor shower, and a fire pit with custom half-circle wrap around seating coming off the deck.

This family room provides an ample amount of seating for when there is company over and also provides a comfy sanctuary to read and relax. Being so close to horse farms and vineyards, we wanted to play off the surrounding characteristics and include some corresponding attributes in the home. Brad Knipstein was the photographer.
