When downsizing to a town home it is important to take advantage of every inch available. This compact laundry area had a side by side washer and dryer and traditional laundry tub. The homeowner wanted a countertop to fold clothes, a place to hang hand washing and storage for laundry supplies. Designer Carol Kornak recommended stacking the washer/dryer and replacing the large laundry tub with a smaller sink allowing space for a folding area. To increase the counter space even more, a wood top was made to span the sink opening to create continuous counter space when needed. Finally, to add a little glam to a utility area, a glass tile backsplash was added that is functional and beautiful.

Inspiration for a mid-sized craftsman galley linoleum floor dedicated laundry room remodel in Detroit with a drop-in sink, white cabinets, laminate countertops, beige walls, a side-by-side washer/dryer and raised-panel cabinets

Cabinet refacing was the main part of this kitchen remodeling project. The cabinets were refaced with a Walzcraft raised panel arch style (Madison) door done in Oak. The stain was done in Fruitwood. We also installed new doors to enclose the storage shelf next to the pantry. The hardware that was chosen was Jeffrey Alexander bronzed nickel door handles. We also installed a new Pionite X laminate countertop done in Frederick and installed new laminate oak flooring.

In this Mid-Century Modern home, the master bath was updated with a custom laminate vanity in Pionite Greige with a Suede finish with a bloom tip-on drawer and door system. The countertop is 2cm Sahara Beige quartz. The tile surrounding the vanity is WOW 2x6 Bejmat Tan tile. The shower walls are WOW 6x6 Bejmat Biscuit tile with 2x6 Bejmat tile in the niche. A Hansgrohe faucet, tub faucet, hand held shower, and slide bar in brushed nickel. A TOTO undermount sink, Moen grab bars, Robern swing door medicine cabinet and magnifying mirror, and TOTO one piece automated flushing toilet. The bedroom wall leading into the bathroom is a custom monolithic formica wall in Pumice with lateral swinging Lamp Monoflat Lin-X hinge door series. The client provided 50-year-old 3x6 red brick tile for the bathroom and 50-year-old oak bammapara parquet flooring in the bedroom. In the bedroom, two Rakks Black shelving racks and Stainless Steel Cable System were installed in the loft and a Stor-X closet system was installed.

Here is an after picture with the custom cabinets, PFA30-G Pionite formica countertop, new wall color Alabaster, and Armstrong Estates vinyl floor. We reinstalled the homeowner's existing washer and dryer.
